    Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic School in West Seattle seeks a qualified Extended Care (EDC) Director , starting in late-August 2024.

     

    Our school serves Preschool thru 8th grade students in an inclusive Catholic school environment. We face this as a sacramental community united and empowered by the Holy Spirit."

     

    The successful candidate will have the skill and enthusiasm to envision and develop a thriving Extended Day care, serving our K-8 students. A successful director will challenge students to grow, explore and try new things, outside of the classroom setting. Candidates should hold a minimum of a high school diploma, and will be expected to fully pass a background check, and Virtus Safe Environment training. CPR/ First Aid and DCYF background check preferred. A successful candidate has experience leading a team, collaborates well with others, is flexible, reliable and dependable, and has the confidence to work independently.  OLG School seeks highly qualified applicants, with experience working with school-aged children in a multi-age setting.  A preference will be given to candidates who are practicing Catholics. 

     

    Typical Schedule: 

     

    Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 6:50am- 8:30am, 2:45-6:15pm & Wednesdays: 6:50am- 8:30am, 2:00-6:15pm

     

     Additional hours on non-school days, ½ days. 

     

    ~5-6 hours a day. No more than 28 hours a week. 

     
    Major Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Collaborate with the Principal in implementing the mission of the Parish and the School, through participation and evaluation of OLG school’s goals and objectives as a member of the school staff. 

    • The Extended Day Care (EDC) Director is responsible for planning and implementing programs and activities that enhance the student day outside of the classroom, and will be asked to share it with the principal to use for marketing and communication with families. 

    • The Director will be expected to lead others, and work with additional part time EDC staff in a collaborative, responsible and respectful manner, recognizing that they are members of a team. 

    • Consistent and reliable attendance and communication from the Director is paramount success in this role. 

    • Director will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of a program, included but not limited to: planning, goal setting, monitoring student safety, etc. 

    • The Director establishes and maintains appropriate student behavior and develops strategies to resolve conflict effectively. ?
    • Director plans monthly snack menus, and follows an allotted budget for food orders. 
    • ?The Director maintains a current level of knowledge and skill required to effectively serve as a leader and director, by keeping abreast of current issues, trends, concerns, and is committed to attending trainings, in-services, and professional development workshops. 
     

     

     

    Pay Rate and Benefits

     

    Hourly rate: $ 21.00 - $26.00 salary commensurates with experience. 

     
    • Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications. 

     

    As a part-time role, this position is not eligible for benefits.
