    St. Catherine of Siena School is seeking a substitute for our K-8 school for the 2024-2025 school year. Located in the beautiful Maple Leaf community of north Seattle, our school offers a competitive wage and a welcoming, inclusive environment. Applicants need to have a minimum one year's teaching experience working with K-8 students, preferably in a school environment.

     

    Schedule: Hours vary based on availability and need. Typical substituting hours are 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM. This schedule varies based on staff absences. The maximum schedule per week is 29 hours.

     

    Position Summary:

     

    The substitute teacher/assistant teaches lessons based on substitute lesson plans, provides student support, encourages student's progress, and assists in managing the learning environment. This individual may be asked to cover other roles, including but not limited to Instructional Assistant and Specialists.

     

    Duties include (but aren’t limited to):

     
    • Assisting and working collaboratively with other staff
    • Working with students who have a diverse set of needs and learning styles
    • Helping to maintain a clean and orderly classroom environment
    • Teaching students in various grades
    • Close out the school day and prepare the classroom for the morning
    • Promoting healthy peer interactions between children of all abilities
    • Maintaining confidentiality at all times

    Hourly wage is dependent on experience.

     

    OTHER:

     

    Salary: $28-$30/hour. Any offered wage is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant’s skills, and prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications.

     

    Benefits: This position is not benefit eligible.
