SAU 24 seeks an organized, detail-oriented person to join our team as the Student Services Secretary at Henniker Community School.
The position is a full time, hourly, school-year+ position with associated benefits (health, dental, NH Retirement).
Job Responsibilities: Student Services Secretary:
- Support students, parents/guardians, and staff that visit the student services office providing requested information if appropriate and or clarifying procedures;
- Provide daily support to the Student Services Coordinator to ensure the student services department operates in an effective and efficient manner;
- Establish, maintain, and safeguard the integrity of special education and 504 student files;
- Monitor the completion and accuracy of special education and 504 documentation;
- Notifiy case managers and special education administrator when IDEA documentation, data reports, or required special education reports are incomplete or untimely;
- Request records for new students and forward records of withdrawing students to receiving districts relating to special education students in accordance with current district, state, and federal requirements;
- Maintain confidential calendar of special education activity accessible to special education staff and administration;
- Establish and maintain a special education database of special education students by their disability IEP and evaluation due dates;
- Coordinate special education and 504 meetings and conferences as requested, scheduling time, place, participants, and necessary materials or equipment;
- Distribute copies of IEPs and 504 plans to appropriate staff in accordance with current procedure or as requested by administration;
- Enter student data into the New Hampshire Special Education Information System (NHSEIS) to ensure all special education students are fully compliant with state regulations;
- Maintain and submit accurate 504 and Special Education data and reports for the school the SAU and the state in a timely manner;
- Determine needs and order office supplies, equipment, repair and maintenance services to operate the special education office in accordance with school procedures;
- Encourage model and maintain high standards of professional conduct;
- Interact positively with students parents Guardians and school personnel;
- Input student information and monitor Medicaid logs completed by service providers;
- Promote belief that all students can and will learn;
- Select appropriate channels for resolving concerns or problems; and
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding students and employees of the school.
Reports to: Student Services Coordinator and Building Administrators
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Two years clerical/office experience;
- Applicable knowledge and experience with computer hardware and softwhere including EDMS and NHSEIS
- Ability to be accurate, meet deadlines, and have clear oral and written communications;
- Knowledge of Special Education and 504 rules, regulations,policies and procedures;
- Ability to work in groups and committees;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
