    5 days a week
     
    Job Summary 
    -Responsible for training and instructing student athletes in various sports, focusing on skill development, strategy, physical conditioning, and teamwork.
     
    Qualifications  
    -Must be 18 years of age or older.
    -Playing experience and/or coaching experience preferred.
    -Proof of current First Aid, CPR, and concussion certification
    -Must pass a background check.

    Performance Responsibilities 
    Planning and Preparation
    -Develop a regular practice schedule and organize practice time to provide both individual and team development.
    -Condition student-athletes with developmental and age-appropriate activities which include endurance, strength, and agility.
    -Work with the Athletic Director in scheduling facilities for practices and games.
    -Coach and instruct players, individuals or in groups, regarding the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport.
    -Plan, organize, and implement the teaching of fundamentals, strategies, rules and proper conditioning in the assigned sport.
     
    Environment
    -Teach sportsmanship, cooperation, work ethic, and personal responsibility to all student-athletes.
    -Establish and maintain standards of student-athlete behavior during practices, games, buses, and locker rooms.
    -Model good sportsmanship and maintain appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and spectators.
     
    Safety
    -Supervise student-athletes before, during, and after practices and games, including in locker rooms, on buses, and at all other times.
    -Be at all practices and games on time and not leave until all student-athletes have left.
    -Know how to apply basic first aid, maintain and utilize the assigned first aid kit and always have emergency care information.
    -Complete incident report for injuries or problems that occur at any athletic practice or game.
    -Follow established procedures for proper care, maintenance, issuance, inventory, and collection of equipment, supplies and uniforms.
    -Provide for the safety of student-athletes by inspecting facilities and equipment and being aware of environmental conditions.
    -Instruct student-athletes in safety procedures and add the need to report injuries immediately.
     
    Communication
    -Hold organizational meetings for potential team members and encourage potential athletes to participate in the sport.
    -Establish cooperative relations and communications with parents/guardians as appropriate.
    -Promote awareness of the athletic team by providing information to the principal and community about the team’s activities.
     
    Professional Responsibilities
    -Avoid criticism of students, parents, and colleagues.
    -Prepare all the required paperwork.
    -Adhere to all NHSSA policies and national coaching standards.
    -Monitor the academic performance of the student-athlete to ensure eligibility requirements are met and encourage student-athletes to maintain a high academic standard.
    -Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities as assigned by the athletic director and/or the principal.

    Terms of Employment 
    -Stipend amount as outlined in the Professional Staff Collective Bargaining Agreement
    -Exempt from overtime pay
    -On-site
    -Hours are dependent upon the season and athletic activity.
