    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    The school administrator reports to the Principal and is evaluated by the Superintendent of Schools/Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction.
     
    MAJOR DUTIES
    1. Demonstrate commitment to and support for the vision and mission of the system and school
    2. Engage daily in communication and collaboration with middle school principal to support goals of the building
    3. Assist the principal in supervising and evaluating school-based personnel
    4. Assist in developing, implementing and evaluating instructional programs and activities at the assigned school
    5. Assist the principal in providing an atmosphere conducive to learning and teaching
    6. Assist in coordinating the selection and acquisition of instructional materials and equipment
    7. Assist in coordinating all testing programs at the school
    8. Assist in the supervision and management of the school site
    9. Assist in the coordination and supervision of before and/or after school programs or activities
    10. Assist in selection and employment of school personnel
    11. Assist with the development and implementation of an effective staff development program
    12. Implement school board policy, state statutes, federal regulations as they pertain to the assigned school

    35. Assist in preparing and disseminating school newsletters, memos and letters
    36. Make presentations to faculty, students and parents as requested by the principal
    37. Collaborate with school and system personnel in planning and implementing system initiatives
    38. Assist in developing and implementing positive public relations for the school
    39. Assist the principal in the development and implementation of procedures for dealing with school crises
    40. Deal with emergency situations quickly and effectively
    41. Deal effectively and appropriately with abuse situations

    $27,334 - $29,515
     
     
    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
                High School Diploma or Equivalency Diploma required.
                NYS CDL with Passenger (“P”) and School (“S”) endorsement
     
    REPORTS TO:
                Transportation Supervisor/Food Service Manager
     
    SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
                Good knowledge of driving safety practices and traffic laws and regulations; ability to operate a bus under difficult driving and road conditions.  Ability to make minor repairs to vehicle; ability to understand and follow simple oral and written directions; ability to get along with children; working knowledge of grounds maintenance activities; dependability; mechanical aptitude.  Other duties as assigned.
     
    MAJOR DUTIES:
     
    1. Obey traffic laws and observe all mandatory safety regulations for school buses.
    2. Maintains discipline when students are on the bus, reporting undisciplined students to the proper authority.
    3. Keeps assigned bus clean and on assigned schedule.
    4. Checks bus before each operation for mechanical defects, notifying any failures to the proper authority.
    5. Transports only authorized students, reporting all incidents and completes required reports.
    6. Attend all scheduled meetings for the purpose of physicals, safety, and run selections; while observing all contractual obligations.
    7. Assist with preparation of food portions and prepare cafeteria counter.
    8. Serves students and staff from cafeteria counter.
    9. Removes and cleans used dishes and silverware and assists in the cleaning of the counters, tables, and furnishings in the dining area.
    10. Maintains the trash and garbage collection area in neat and sanitary fashions.
    11. Thoroughness, cleanliness and good physical condition, while demonstrating competence for assigned responsibilities.
    12. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
