BRIEF DESCRIPTION / POSITION SUMMARY:
The Assistant Chamber Strings Sponsor will supervise students during meetings. The Sponsor will supervise students in planning and executing events throughout the year. The Sponsor will help the head Chamber Strings sponsor organize approved fundraisers throughout the year in order to meet the needs of the club’s expenses as applicable. Chamber Strings is open to all students who are interested in the orchestra
· Maintains attendance records for club meetings and events
· Present six or more concerts per year
· Prepare and direct as requested at other events (community events)
· Rehearse once a week from August 15 - May 15
· Prepare/supervise/direct smaller chamber ensembles as needed (madrigal strings)
· Assist in the organization and maintenance of the music library for chamber strings
· Help recruit for program grades K-12
· Assist in the coordination of all parent volunteers
· Assist in the planning and organization of the Spring Showcase
· Manages and supervises the use of facilities during activities and events
· Confirms the security of the facilities
· Ensures that students have a way to get home and remains present until the last student is released
· Engages students in community service activities
· Maintains positive relationships with students and interacts with students and adults in a respectful manner
· Uses appropriate channels to resolve concerns and problems
· Completes all training and certification required by the District
· Other duties as required
· Assists with writing college letters of recommendation for students per their request.
· Communicates all student achievements and accomplishments within the program to the activity director in a timely fashion so that they can be highlighted in parent/staff and student communication.
QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS:
SKILLS: Organizational skills and initiative for working with minimal direct supervision. Must show evidence of strong leadership and organizational skills.
KNOWLEDGE: Previous successful experience in sponsorship/mentoring preferred. Substantial knowledge in the area of student support, as well as familiarity with student discipline and safety protocols.

Salary Range: Assistant Coach Level 6 $2,970- $4,977 based on experience
