BRIEF DESCRIPTION / POSITION SUMMARY:
Yorkville CUSD 115 has an opening for a FMLA 1.0 FTE Music Teacher position to serve across Bristol Grade and Yorkville Grade School from August 13th through December 19th, 2025 . The ideal candidate will have a passion for music education and experience working with elementary-aged students. We are looking for an educator who can create a positive and inclusive learning environment where students are encouraged to explore music through singing, movement, and instrument play.
This position requires someone who is student-centered, collaborative, and committed to nurturing a love for music while maintaining high expectations for behavior and learning. The successful candidate will work closely with classroom teachers and school staff to support school-wide goals and provide engaging, standards-based music instruction.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality general music instruction to elementary students (grades K–3)
Develop and implement age-appropriate lessons in rhythm, melody, harmony, form, and expression
Organize and direct student performances and concerts as applicable
Foster a classroom environment that supports creativity, collaboration, and a lifelong appreciation of music
Collaborate with colleagues and participate in school-wide initiatives and professional learning communities
Daily Rate: $210
QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS:
Illinois Professional Educators License with Appropriate Endorsements in teaching and Music.
