Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and student-focused English/Language Arts teacher to join our small, close-knit secondary school community. This position will serve 7th and 8th grade students, focusing on reading, writing, speaking, listening, and media literacy. The ideal candidate is passionate about helping students grow as readers and writers, and is eager to build strong relationships in a rural, multi-grade campus environment.
Coaching responsibilities may be included based on campus needs and candidate qualifications.
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging and standards-aligned instruction in reading, writing, grammar, and literary analysis for 7th and 8th grade ELA.
Create a supportive classroom culture that promotes academic risk-taking, student voice, and literacy growth.
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
Integrate writing across multiple genres, including narrative, expository, argumentative, and literary response.
Use assessment data (formative and summative) to monitor progress and adjust instruction.
Collaborate with campus staff to support literacy initiatives across grade levels.
Build strong relationships with students, parents, and the school community.
Participate in campus activities, staff meetings, and professional development.
