PRIMARY PURPOSE:
To perform maintenance and repair of school properties and campus areas to maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and presentation of grounds to students, parents, school staff and the general public. 
GENERAL QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES
Education/Certification/Experience:
• General experience in groundskeeping
• Valid Texas Class “C” Operator’s Driver’s License.  Driving record must meet district standard for driving district vehicles
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• Knowledge of equipment for grounds care is desired
• Ability to read, understand and follow written and verbal instructions; operate the required equipment to complete the assigned tasks and have good vision, sense of smell, and speak clearly/be understood
 
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
 
• Required to use string trimmers
• Operate deck mowers during mowing season
• Cut and trim shrubs and trees as required
• Monitor assigned areas for trash each day
• Rake leaves, grass clippings and trash as required
• Assist building maintenance staff to pull cable, set-up equipment, move heavy ladders/lifts, etc.
• Prepare athletic facilities for sporting events (i.e., line fields, trim and outline activity areas, clean up trash, check equipment, etc.)
• Assist auxiliary staff in moving equipment throughout the district, as required
• Repair streets and parking lots
• Commute to and from multiple facilities within the district as assigned, using district-owned vehicle
• Digging and irrigation repairs
• Demonstrates regular and prompt attendance
• Perform other duties as assigned

Primary Purpose:
Perform casework service to help students resolve personal, emotional, and social problems that interfere with their adjustment to school and their ability to enjoy the benefits of the educational process. Function as part of the pupil services team to formulate plans with the school, student, and parents.

Qualifications:
Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree in social work from a Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accredited program
Valid Texas license as a baccalaureate social worker (LBSW) granted by the Texas State Board of Social Worker Examiners

Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of individual and group counseling skills
Knowledge and skill in casework methods

Major Responsibilities and Duties: Social Work
1. Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to encourage peer support and enhance social development of students including developing the ability to accept responsibility for their actions, resolve conflicts, develop decision-making skills, and handle crises. Work with students to improve attendance.
2. Perform casework service with parents to increase the parents’ understanding, their constructive participation in resolving their child’s problems and their knowledge and use of available and appropriate resources.
3. Provide crisis support and counseling to students, parents, and school staff.
4. Coordinate and integrate school and community resources and refer school staff and parents to community resources where appropriate.
Assessment
5. Identify and explore causes of students’ dysfunction as it relates to the home, school, and community including making home visits to gather information relating to students. Arrange for medical, psychiatric, and other tests and examinations that may disclose causes of difficulties and indicate remedial measures.
6. Participate in the Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee to assist in interpretation of assessment data, appropriate placement, and goal setting for students according to district procedures.
Consultation
7. Work with school personnel to help students explore alternative education programs and career counseling.
8. Serve as consultant to school personnel regarding students or situations that are not referred for direct district or outside services.
9. Contribute to the planning and implementation of parent involvement activities. Develop and conduct parenting training and support groups.
10. Consult with parents regarding their children’s academic performance, behavior, and needs.
11. Inform students and parents of their rights and responsibilities under federal and state law including compulsory attendance.
Program Management
12. Develop and maintain effective individual and group relationships with students and parents.
13. Develop and coordinate a continuing evaluation of social work services and make changes based on the findings.
14. Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other required documents.
15. Comply with policies established by federal and state laws, State Board of Education rule, and board policy. Comply with all district and campus routines and regulations.

16.  Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.

May supervise persons completing practicum or internship through a college or university program.

The State Board for Educator Certification will require all first time applicants for an initial credential to be fingerprinted as part of a national criminal background check.   A $50.20 fingerprinting fee will be paid by the substitute.  However, we ask that all hired substitutes save the fingerprinting fee receipt.  Once you complete three (3) full days as a substitute, you may submit the receipt for reimbursement to Accounts Payable in the administration building.

3. Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of gifted students based on the district's goals and objectives.
4. Prepare for classes assigned and show written evidence of preparation.
5. Employ a variety of instructional techniques and media which meet the needs and capabilities of gifted students.
6. Conduct student assessments and adapt curriculum and lesson plans accordingly, providing differentiation and/or extensions of lessons.
7. Work cooperatively with classroom teachers to address gifted student's need.
8. Attend all LVISD gifted and talented program related meetings.
9. Assist in the coordination and facilitate gifted student fall and spring parent meetings.
10. Build professional relationships with colleagues, community, and parents.
11. Develop and revise gifted curriculum.
12. Assist teachers in developing and providing gifted students with enriched or alternative course work through curriculum modification, compacting, etc. to meet their needs a gifted learners and promote high achievement in gifted learners.

14. Participate in campus professional learning communities (PLCs) to work with campus teachers on instructional planning and extension in all classrooms.
15. Assist in the gifted and talented nomination and identification process, including the planning, testing of students, review of student data, and campus identification meetings.
16. Co-teach and model rigor, higher level questioning, and differentiation for GT classroom teachers on a regular basis to support daily challenge of GT students.
17. Plan, coordinate, and execute Lago Vista ISD GT student field trips

Staff Development
1. Develop and conduct or arrange staff development sessions, including sessions on delivery of instruction, enriched learning in classroom settings, and methods for identifying gifted and talented students.

3. Provide learning experiences that assist school staff to make meaningful decisions about teaching and learning for gifted students.
4. Assist with maintaining teacher training records.

1. Disseminate information regarding current requirements of the state and federal gifted and talented programs.
