    Lexington ISD is a 3A school with a successful four teacher agricultural program in Lee County,
    Texas. Lexington is approximately equidistant to Bryan/College Station and Austin. We are in
    the Star District and Area XII. We provide a wide range of agricultural educational opportunities
    for our students.

    Expectations beyond the classroom for this position include (shared across the Ag/FFA teaching
    team) attendance and representation at the county and major shows, CDE/LDE events,
    conferences, FFA conventions, officer campus, events, meetings, and LCJLS (Lee County
    Junior Livestock Show) meetings. This person should be able to, with the teaching team,
    manage a comprehensive agriculture program that includes a variety of agriculture course
    offerings. The department offers Animal Science, Plant Science, and Applied Agriculture
    Engineering for the primary Programs of Study with routes for Agribusiness and Environmental
    & Natural Resources as secondary Programs of Study.

    Primary classroom responsibilities will include: Principles of Agriculture and Wildlife. Flexibility in
    course offerings aligned with a coherent sequence is available.
    Individuals should be able to credentialed students in an aligned industry based certification.
    Typically, the available options through the CEV Multimedia platform that are aligned to course
    content are utilized with success.

    Teaching credentials should include: a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and a
    valid Texas teaching certificate (or alternative certification program eligibility with statement of
    eligibility) in Agricultural Science or closely related coursework.
