    Primary Purpose:
    Facilitate the efficient operation of the child care services office and provide clerical services for the child care centers and PASAR sites administrative staff
     
    QUALIFICATIONS

    Education/Certification:
    •  High school diploma or equivalent
     
    Special Knowledge/Skills:                                    
    • Proficient skills in typing, word processing and file maintenance
    • Proficient skills in computer programs relating to job specific criteria such as, but not limited to:  Social media, Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite
    • Intermediate math skills
    • Knowledge and implementation of Texas child care guidelines and state licensing
    • Demonstrates insight into child and adult behavior
    • Strong organizational, communication, public relations, computer skills and interpersonal skills

     Experience:                   
    • One to three years of secretarial experience, preferably in a public education environment
    • Two years working in a K-12 school or child care setting (preferred)
    • Two years’ office manager experience (preferred)
     MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
    • Assume responsibility for the organization, operation, and distribution of work in the child care services office
    • Assist Director with monthly and yearly budgets
    • Supervise the collection, deposit, and maintenance of records of all monetary transactions
    • Work with child care centers and PASAR sites administrative staff to maintain proper files to include inventory of supplies, student records, and office communications
    • Act as liaison between child care services and campus departments including, but not limited to: Repairs, HVAC, pest control, plumbing, janitorial, and facilities
    • Ensure consistent compliance with Texas Health and Human Resources, including maintenance of annual fire, health and gas line inspections
    • Attend professional development seminars to maintain an understanding of the current best practices of curriculum and administrative functions of a child care
    • Order supplies for the child care centers and PASAR throughout the school year and in the summer from office, warehouse, and vendors
    • Research innovative designs and create specific projects and relating to child care services
    • Plan and coordinate field trips for PASAR 
    • Create work orders for items needing repair or service at the child care centers and PASAR
    • Assist in planning for the child care centers and PASAR enrollment including summer training with staff
    • Update training manuals and materials for staff
    • Maintain child care and PASAR website with any updated information
    • Prepare instructional materials, meeting agendas, and child care communications as requested
    • Monitor personnel time records and verify absences
    • Process timesheets and send information to finance
    • Work with students, parents, teachers, staff and supervisors to maintain effective communications
    • Follow all rules, regulations, and policies of Plano ISD and follow directives from supervisor
    • Follow attendance policy as assigned by supervisor
    • Perform other functions that may be assigned by the Administration and/or supervisor

    • Uses computer, scanner, printer, copier, calculator, and fax
     
    WORKING CONDITIONS
     
    Mental Demands:
    • Reading; ability to perform basic arithmetic; ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); maintain emotional control under stress
               
    Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
    • Work with frequent interruptions. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing and pulling. Prolonged use of computer and repetitive hand motions. Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
