     Salary: $15.00 per hour

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    This is a temporary position that may be used to interpret and assist with basic classroom instruction and/or to assist with the personal physical needs of specified students. Based on the student's Individual Education Program (IEP), employees will be required to work with individual students and/or groups of students to reinforce instruction previously initiated by the teacher.

     
    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
    • Per the student's IEP, provide personalized attention and assistance to student(s) to develop or improve skills in all academic, functional, technical and/or specialized areas of instruction to which assigned;
    • Assisting students experiencing difficulties working on a project;
    • Providing assistance with the supervision of the student on field trips;
    • Shares responsibility for maintaining an appropriate work area of student(s); and
    • Ability to maintain a professional code of ethics.
     
    QUALIFICATIONS:
    The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
    • High School Diploma Required.
    • One year of volunteer or paid experience working with children preferred.
    • Must be at least 18 years of age.
    • Two Professional Letters of Recommendation
    CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
    None required.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
    No direct supervisory responsibilities.
     
    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, talk, hear, walk, sit, and use fingers, tools or controls. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as to read handwritten or typed material, the ability to adjust focus, and depth perception. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally push or lift up to 25 lbs.
