POSITION: Volunteer Coach - Any Sport

Qualifications:
• Current Certification in CPR (HIGH SCHOOLS ONLY)
• "Fundamentals of Coaching" Certification (HIGH SCHOOLS ONLY)
• "Concussion in Sports" Certification (HIGH SCHOOLS ONLY)
• Leadership skills necessary to serve as a role model for assistant coaches and student athletes
• Knowledge of essential skills, techniques, rules and safety concerns for the sport to be coached
• Knowledge of specific injury risks in the sport to be coached
• Skill in inspection facilities and equipment for hazards and implementing necessary measures to prevent injury due to hazards
• Skill in communicating with parents and other sports professionals
• Knowledge necessary to adhere to rules set out by AIA and Peoria Unified School District # 11

Selection Process:
Selected candidates will be required to participate in an interview process

Position Title:  Certified Teacher                                                                  
Supervisor:      Principal at assigned location

Student Success – Manage and educate students while helping them discover and fulfill their potential 
Develop and implement creative and engaging lesson plans
Document and share student grades and evaluations
Safety and Well-Being - Cultivate a creative learning environment and maintain a safe, inviting, and nurturing space for students, staff, and the community 
Set and maintain standards of classroom behavior and uphold District discipline policies
Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
Community Connection – Enhance Peoria Unified’s culture which encourages and strengthens parent and community partnerships 
Available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the regular instructional day when required or requested under reasonable terms

Maintain accurate and complete records required by law, District policy, and administrative regulation

Requirements:  A valid intern, provisional, or standard Arizona Teaching Certificate; or possess the necessary qualifications to become certified in the state of Arizona.  Must possess or obtain an Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
 
Other Requirements:   
Specialized teaching assignments may require additional training and/or certification 
Must be able to pass a fingerprint and background clearance check
Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid government issued ID
May be required to lift and carry heavy, bulky supplies and materials weighing up to 20 pounds
May be required to lift students weighing up to 60 pounds
May be required to work outside normal working hours
May be required to travel to perform work functions
