PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Operating microcomputers, optical mark scanners, and printers.
2. Understanding the constraints of the student information management system in order to identify and correct data errors and to generate federal, state, and local reports effectively.
3. Reviewing source documents and computer listings for the purposes of identifying and correcting data.
4. Entering and reporting data with extra care and constant attention to the security of confidential student information.
5. Entering data with accuracy at high speed given consideration for time required for judgment and the difficulty of transcribing and verifying source data.
6. Handling all incoming/outgoing facsimiles.
7. Helping with receipting money from teachers during the school day.
8. Assisting secretary/treasurer with any other duties assigned.
9. Explaining school policy to parents both on the telephone and in person.
10. Assisting teachers with copy work and supplies.
11. Performing other duties, as necessary, to assist with school administration.
 
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be able to stand, sit, or walk for prolonged periods of time.
• Ability to reach with hands and arms routinely.
• Ability to bend, stoop, carry, push, or pull.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Planning and Implementing for Teaching and Learning
1. Assesses learning and information needs of students and staff.
2. Instructs students and staff in the effective use of the media center and its resources.
3. Incorporates information literacy into day-to-day instruction.
4. Provide leadership and support for establishing, promoting, and sustaining the effective use of information resources and technology tools.
5. Foster collaboration with teachers in their school community to facilitate the design, delivery, and assessment of instructional activities that promote learner competence and confidence with 21st Century skills.
6. Collaborates with the Digital Learning and Teaching Facilitator to provide leadership in the school’s use and delivery of instructional technology resources to enhance learning.
7. Collaborate with teachers and other specialists to identify students’ interests, learning styles, and unique instructional requirements and to design instructional strategies guided by universal design principles.
8. Encourage all learners to establish and maintain a positive digital footprint as they interact in web-enabled environments.
9. Use a variety of instructional strategies, resources, and assessment tools to provide digital-age learning experiences.
10. Model, promote, and facilitate the seamless integration of information and technology tools and resources across all content areas.
11. Support differentiation of instruction by choosing and modifying learning strategies, tools, and resources to meet the needs of all learners.
 
Planning and Implementing for Information Access, Evaluation, and Use
12. Follows a plan for personal professional development and actively seeks out opportunities to grow professionally.
13. Develops a library collection that supports 21st Century teaching and learning, global awareness, and cultural understanding.
14. Creates and maintains an environment conducive to learning and collaboration.
15. Works with the principal and school leadership team to provide flexible access to school library media center resources to accommodate individuals and groups simultaneously.
16. Organizes school library media facilities and resources in a manner that supports the mission, goals, and objectives of the school and maximizes intellectual and physical access to resources.
17. Encourages the widest possible use of print and electronic resources and services--within the school library media center, throughout the school, and through remote access.
18. Works cooperatively with other libraries and agencies to share resources that enhance teaching and learning.

20. Advocates the principles of intellectual freedom.
 
Planning and Implementing for Program Administration
21. Works with school staff to design and implement short- and long-range plans that ensure balance among all aspects of the school library media coordinator’s role and responsibilities.
22. Uses data on student learning and achievement to improve their professional practice and future program planning.
23. Continuously evaluates the library media collection, in collaboration with the Media and Technology Advisory Committee, to ensure that it is accurate, current, and meets teacher and student needs for recreational reading and curriculum-based materials in a variety of formats.
24. Designs and participates in events that promote reading, digital citizenship, and other media center related programs.
25. Plays a leading role in the school’s budgetary process to ensure funding for the school library media program to support school-wide goals.
26. Leads, in partnership with the Digital Learning and Teaching Facilitator, the Media and Technology Advisory Committee in effective decision making to promote the media and technology program.
27. Interacts effectively with students, staff, administration, parents, and the community to promote and expand the school library media program.
28. Prepares and submits accurate reports as required.
29. Adheres to established laws, policies, rules, and regulations.
30. Carries out non-instructional duties as assigned and/or as need is perceived.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Monitors student behavior and compliance with school rules and procedures in a variety of settings including in the cafeteria, playground/gymnasium, hallways and other common areas of the school.
2. Provides supervision for students who arrive early or stay later due to school transportation logistics. This may include a work schedule that is not the same as other school personnel.
3. Provides support for school safety plan implementation.
4. Assists with school safety drills.
5. Implements prepared lesson plans as needed when the regular teacher is not available.
6. Maintains good order and discipline in classrooms and group settings that fosters a safe and positive environment for all students and staff in accordance with school and county policies.
7. Maintains the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom.
8. Promotes proper use and care of school property.
9. Addresses and reconciles minor student conflicts and requests assistance from administration when support is needed for serious incidents.
10. Reports all student injuries, accidents, illness, and discipline problems to the appropriate authority immediately or as soon as reasonable possible.
11. Reports any unusual occurrence or event to the principal or designee immediately.
12. Maintains confidentiality of student information.
13. Models and promotes a high level of ethical and appropriate behavior.
14. Follows all rules and regulations, policies and administrative guidelines as adopted by the school, Board of Education, and Superintendent.
15. Remains at the school during the entire school day unless excused by the principal or designee.

Under general supervision assists teachers and therapists in daily classroom activities with the care of children with mental, physical, and emotional disabilities.

5. Assists students with dressing, eating, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene and other tasks students are unable to perform for themselves.
6. Assists students with mobility and basic communication skills.
7. Assembles, adjusts, and maintains equipment used in instructional programs.
8. Assists therapists and other specialists.
9. Assists in recording student behavior, progress, and other related data.
10. Constantly monitors the safety and well-being of students in all areas of the school environment.
11. Models and promotes high level of ethical and appropriate behavior.
12. Assists with the supervision of students during emergency drills, assemblies, play periods, and field trips; monitors students during lunch, recess, specials, hygiene routines and snack time; if applicable, serves as bus monitor.
