5-8 ACADEMIC ASSISTANCE PROGRAM TEACHERS
Job Description
We are looking for 4 teachers to provide academic assistance in-person before or after school in the areas of English language arts and mathematics for students with identified needs. Each teacher will work 2 days per week at 1 hour per day. Teachers in this position will provide targeted instruction to address gaps identified through student assessment data. Schedules will be determined based on student need and teacher availability.
Program Dates: October - May
Final schedule to be determined based on student need and teacher availability.
Rate of Pay: $70.90 per day funded through Title IA
(includes 15 minutes of prep time and 60 minutes of instruction time at the rates as indicated in the OEA CBA)
Requirements:
NJ Teaching Certificate (Elementary, K-6, English language arts, mathematics)
Experience with teaching grades 5-8 preferred
Tasks will include:
Data analysis to determine areas of weakness and to establish learning goals
Gathering data to monitor student progress and mastery of goals
Maintaining documentation for each student regarding skills/concepts addressed
Communicating with parents regarding progress, attendance, etc.
Working collaboratively with other program teachers as needed
Reporting to building principal about student progress as requested
