POSITION OPEN: Varsity Basketball Coach

COMPENSATION: Per the BEA Agreement, Schedule B
QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level.
Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, game strategy, and player development.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Commitment to the academic success and personal growth of student-athletes.
Ability to work evenings and weekends and travel for games and tournaments.
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and implement a comprehensive basketball program that aligns with the athletic department’s philosophy and values.
Provide leadership and mentorship to student-athletes, emphasizing character, sportsmanship, and discipline.
Plan and conduct structured practices that enhance individual and team performance.
Manage game strategy, scouting, and in-game decision-making.
Work collaboratively with the athletic department, school administration, and community stakeholders.
Oversee assistant coaches and support the development of the junior varsity and freshman teams.
Ensure compliance with MHSAA regulations and Berkley School District policies.
Support student-athletes in their academic and athletic growth.
Promote a culture of inclusivity, teamwork, and community involvement.
