      POSITION OPEN: Varsity Basketball Coach

     

      LOCATION:   Berkley High School

     

                          2025-2026 

     

      COMPENSATION: Per the BEA Agreement, Schedule B

     

      QUALIFICATIONS:

     
    • Previous coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level.

    • Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, game strategy, and player development.

    • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

    • Commitment to the academic success and personal growth of student-athletes.

    • Ability to work evenings and weekends and travel for games and tournaments.

    • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

     

      DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

     
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive basketball program that aligns with the athletic department’s philosophy and values.

    • Provide leadership and mentorship to student-athletes, emphasizing character, sportsmanship, and discipline.

    • Plan and conduct structured practices that enhance individual and team performance.

    • Manage game strategy, scouting, and in-game decision-making.

    • Work collaboratively with the athletic department, school administration, and community stakeholders.

    • Oversee assistant coaches and support the development of the junior varsity and freshman teams.

    • Ensure compliance with MHSAA regulations and Berkley School District policies.

    • Support student-athletes in their academic and athletic growth.

    • Promote a culture of inclusivity, teamwork, and community involvement.
