QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Working knowledge and experience in one or more of the following areas: electrical wiring, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC equipment, welding, concrete work, and other maintenance related skills
2. Demonstrated aptitude or competence for all assigned responsibilities
3. Valid Kansas driver's license
4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the board of education may find appropriate and acceptable
REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF MAINTENANCE
JOB GOAL: To maintain the physical school facilities in a condition of operating excellence, cleanliness, and safety so that full educational use of the facilities may be made at all times.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Performs minor and major maintenance and installation of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
2. Able to learn new techniques and methods of maintenance.
3. Willing to learn about all aspects of school facilities maintenance.
4. Become familiar with building custodial duties and willing to fill in as a substitute.
5. Move equipment and material within and between school buildings.
6. Work on exterior and interior of facilities, under buildings, on roofs, and on grounds under all weather conditions.
7. Willing to work overtime at nights and on weekends when an emergency arises.
8. Follows all safety procedures and watches for safety violations throughout the district.
9. Performs other duties as assigned by the custodial supervisor or building administrator.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve month position. Wage to be established by the board of education.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the board’s policy on evaluation of support services personnel.

Ability to work under and on top of buildings, ground level and heights
Ability to perform all types of maintenance on facilities and equipment
Ability to perform systems installation
