Specific Duties and Performance Responsibilities:
 
• Shall serve as instructional leader of the school.
• Shall focus staff development activities on needs assessment data.
• Shall be in charge of staff selection and evaluations.
• Shall establish and maintain good rapport with district administrators, teachers, classified staff, and service center staff.
• Shall establish and maintain good rapport with parents and community members.
• Shall establish and maintain good rapport with students.
• Shall provide for effective day to day operation of the school, including maintenance, security, food service, recreational programs, library activities, and office clerical responsibilities.
• Shall ensure efficient management of building level fiscal resources.
• Shall assume leadership for and supervise the school's athletic program (in conjunction with the district athletic director), and other extracurricular activities.
• Shall implement policies and procedures of the District.
• Shall participate in meetings as are required or appropriate.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 240 day contract
Salary as established by the Board of Education.

Job Summary
Plan, organize, coordinate and control a large group of functional units with management and professional-level subordinates involving highly complex financial activities.
 
General Duties and Responsibilities
• Cash, investment and financial management of the school district
• Processing or supervision of payroll and accounts payable/receivables
• Assist superintendent in budgeting
• Submission of monthly and annual reports to school board and KDE
• Coordinate activities with other district departments; participate in management meetings to discuss districtwide issues.
• Meet periodically with staff to resolve issues, communicate new developments and to assure operating objectives are understood and accomplished.
• Assure internal controls are established, maintained and documented in compliance with organizational directives
• Participate in internal and external organizations, boards and committees as requested and authorized by appropriate management directives and specific authorities.
• Oversee the maintenance of districtwide financial records and programs
• Oversee the preparation of various financial statements and their dissemination.
• Prepare financial analysis of revenues and expenditures and compare to other school districts in and out of state as assigned.
• Coordinate the on-going budget operations including planning, compiling, analyzing, preparing and monitoring the General and Federal Fund budget process.
• Review, analyze and evaluate budgetary process, assuring compliance with generally accepted budgeting principles, standards and procedures.
• Review the cost effectiveness of existing programs and the costing of new programs prior to Board approval.
• Coordinate staff training.
• Serve as the treasurer for the Newport Education Foundation.

• Minimum requirements – a provisional certificate includes a bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, or public finance or 10 years work experience in finance in a KY public school district. 
 
Licenses and employment:
• Obtain full finance officer certificate through the KY Finance Officer Internship Program and yearly education requirements
• Qualify for a fidelity bond – minimum $300,000
• 240-day contract

JOB GOAL
To facilitate and monitor the daily operation of the school nutrition program by providing nutritious meals that meet the nutritional and educational needs of children.
 
QUALIFICATIONS
• Shall hold a bachelor’s degree or higher with an academic major in food and nutrition, food service management, dietetics, family consumer science, nutrition education, culinary arts, business or related field OR
• Shall hold a bachelor’s degree or higher in any academic major AND a state-recognized certificate for school nutrition directors OR
• Associate’s degree with an academic major or concentration in food and nutrition, food service management, dietetics, family consumer science, nutrition education, culinary arts, business or related field OR
• High school diploma and 3 years of relevant food service experience.
• At least 8 hours of food safety training is required either not more than 5 years prior to their starting date or completed within 30 calendar days of employee’s starting date.
• Advanced knowledge in food safety, menu planning, food production and operation management.
PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS
• Ability to do heavy lifting and carry large cases up to 50 pounds.

Sanitation, Food Safety & Risk Management
• Establish policies and procedures to ensure that food is prepared and served in a sanitary and safe
• Provide leadership in creating a safe work environment for school nutrition operations.
Personnel Management
• Establish staff procedures in accordance with district policies and in compliance with local, state and federal laws and regulations.
