Shift: - Full Time - 2:30PM-11:00PM

About the Role: 
 

New Milford Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Maintainer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for building maintenance work, including sheetrock repairs, carpentry, painting, tile work, and door hardware, ensuring the upkeep, functionality, and safety of the district schools.  Your work will be essential in maintaining smooth operations and preventing disruptions through regular inspections, repairs, and improvements.

Qualifications: 
 
 
• Ability to properly use and maintain equipment and tools associated with maintenance. 
• Ability to use computers for emails and work ticket system.
• Must be able to demonstrate some mechanical aptitude and perform minor maintenance tasks. Must hold a current motor vehicle operator's license.
• Must have sufficient physical strength and stamina to perform the required duties. 
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems.
• Experience using various hand and electric tools.
• Ability to read technical manuals and drawings. 
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Responsible for snow removal work as needed.
• Responds to emergency conditions in buildings and performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities.
• The successful andidate must hold or be eligible for a DOT Card
• Minimum of a High school diploma or equivalent
 
 

Assists other Maintenance Department and custodial personnel with tasks as assigned by the Director of Facilities. 
 
Supervision Received: - Works under the supervision of the Director of Facilities or their designee.
