New Milford Public Schools has an immediate opening for an excellent Adult Education Secretary/Clerk.  This position requires strong people skills, ability to multitask and attention to detail. The secretary will assist the Program Manager in the day to day functioning of the adult education office. Salary is $16.35 per hour with no benefits.  Hours are 4:00pm - 9:00pm, Monday thru Thursday.

Position Overview: The Adult Education Secretary provides administrative support to the Adult Education department, facilitating effective operations and communication within the program. This role involves coordinating schedules, managing records, and assisting with various administrative tasks to ensure a smooth educational experience for adult learners.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
• Administrative Support: Provide general clerical support including answering phones, managing correspondence, and handling inquiries from students and staff.

• Scheduling and Coordination: Organize and maintain the adult education schedule, including classes, workshops, and events. Coordinate room bookings and resources needed for instructional sessions.

• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate student records, including enrollment, attendance, and assessments. Ensure confidentiality and compliance with relevant regulations.

• Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for students, instructors, and external partners. Disseminate information about programs, resources, and policies.

• Financial Management: Assist with budgeting and financial processes, including tracking expenditures and processing invoices related to the adult education program.

• Event Planning: Support the planning and execution of events, such as graduations, orientation sessions, and community outreach activities.

• Data Entry and Reporting: Input and maintain data in educational software systems. Generate reports as required for program evaluation and improvement.

• Collaboration: Work closely with faculty, staff, and community organizations to enhance program delivery and student success.
 
Qualifications:
 
• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Proven experience in administrative support or secretarial roles, preferably in an educational setting.

• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Proficiency in Google Suite

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Understanding of adult education principles and practices is a plus.
