  New Milford Public Schools has an immediate opening for an MLL Tutor Support for the 2024-2025 school year. 

Position: Multi Lingual Learner Tutor
Hourly Rate - $18.50 per hour, no benefits.
Three days per week, 7 hours per day. 

Start Date:  ASAP

End Date: May 16, 2025.

Location - 
• Multiple Locations
Specifications: The MLL Tutor works in cooperation with and under the supervision of the MLL Coordinator and teachers. 

Major Responsibilities:
1. Assist MLL students in the mainstream area settings.
2. Provide academic and organizational assistance in the completion of classwork and homework assignments.
3. Provide one-on-one or small group support to help clarify difficult academic concepts presented by the teacher.
4. Assist students in the organization of materials needed for class or during labs or projects.
5. Communicate with teachers, administrators, pupil personnel staff or others with regard to student performance and progress.
6. Administer modified tests or quizzes on behalf of the classroom teachers.
7. Focus on skill-building with students, such as note-taking, outlining, graphic organizers, computation, study skills, etc.
8. Assume other such duties and assignments as may be requested by the teachers or administrators.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree required
• Ability to maintain confidentiality about issues related to children and families
• Experience working in a public school desirable
• Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
