                                    To redirect student behavior when needed.

ANNOUNCEMENT OF VACANCY
 
 
Position:                      ESY Personal Care Assistant  - Summer 2025 (LM)
                                   
Reports to:                  Pupil Services Director
 
Qualifications:            Must be Highly Qualified Paraeducator according to PDE Chapter 14 Special Education Regulations; Current assignment as instructional paraeducator;
                                     Prior knowledge and experience with student needs preferred; CPR Certification Required
 
Duties:
 
• Provide one-to-one assistance and redirection to maintain task focus and to minimize disruptions to class instruction.  Assist with socialization activities.
• Assist student with use of assistive technology communication device(s) as needed.
• Assist/supervise student as directed by classroom teacher or administrator with:
           -  class work and reinforcement of skills
           -  personal hygiene and special needs including toileting (District will provide training for any required medical assistance.) 
          -  physical/mobility needs
          -  testing
          -  make-up work
 
• Collect ESY progress monitoring data related to IEP goals.  Keep records and serve as liaison between home and school.
•  Perform other duties as directed by the building principal or classroom teacher.                      
• To meet, dismiss and ensure safety of students attending ESY sessions.
                                   
Salary:     $25.65 per hour according to the student’s ESY program schedule.     
 
Terms:    12 contract days: June 24, 25, 26; July 1, 2, 3, 8, 9, 10, 15, 16, 17, 18. 2025.
 
Program hours of student: 8:15 am- 11:15 am; Bon Meade Elementary School
