Minnetonka Schools needs Paraprofessional Substitutes to work in our elementary Chinese Immersion classrooms. We are accepting applications for the 2024-2025 school year. These substitute opportunities would be working in either of the two elementary buildings that offer Mandarin Chinese Immersion: Excelsior and Scenic Heights.
Wages:
The substitute hourly rate is $17.80 per hour.

Job Responsibilities:
1. Provides instructional support by working with small groups and individual students under the supervision of the classroom teacher.
2. Supervise students during recess and the teacher's lunch break and prep period.
3. Assist the licensed teacher in classroom management.
4. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
Qualifications:
1. Demonstrated language proficiency in both Mandarin Chinese and English.
2. Experience in working with school age children.
3. Demonstrated ability to take initiative.
4. Demonstrated ability to respect, protect, and maintain confidentiality.
5. Demonstrated ability to follow through on a project.
6. Demonstrated organizational skills, punctuality, and efficiency.
7. Evidence of the ability and inclination to take charge of student behavior as circumstances suggest.
8. Evidence of the ability to work in a team environment.
9. Evidence of excellent human relations and oral communication skills, and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.

Job Responsibilities:
Performs routine first aid care to students and staff with injuries and illness and conducts standardized first aid follow-up procedures.
Maintains and updates health office records, including medication longs, daily visit logs, student health records, and student immunization records.
Under the direction of the LSN, provides cares to students with chronic medical conditions, including administering medication.
Performs emergency first aid care to students and staff with injuries and illnesses.
Assists in organizing the Health Screening program, including coordinating the use of volunteers, scheduling screening, records results, and preparing annual screening report.
Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
Job Qualifications:
Current first aid and CPR certification.
Evidence of successful experiences working with students and understanding their needs.
Experience working with school age children preferred.
Experience working in a clinical setting preferred.
Evidence of basic word processing, PC and clerical skills.
Evidence of ability to work in a team environment.
Evidence of willingness to participate in ongoing training in health and technology.
Evidence of the ability to respect, protect and maintain the confidentiality of students, staff, and families.
Evidence of a willingness to work under supervision of Coordinator of Health Services, LSN, and building principal.
Evidence of the ability to organize, prioritize, meet deadlines, and work with constant interruptions.
