Job Summary:
The Tonka Track and Field League is seeking enthusiastic and responsible individuals to join our team as League Assistant Coaches. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in sports management, event coordination, and team support. As a League Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our track and field practices and events.
Key Responsibilities:
Event Setup and Breakdown:
Assist with the setup and breakdown of track and field equipment, including hurdles, starting blocks, and timing systems.
Athlete Support:
Provide support to athletes during practices and meets, including distributing water, managing equipment, and offering encouragement.
Administrative Tasks:
Help with registration, record-keeping, and data entry related to athlete performance and event results.
Communication:
Serve as a point of contact for athletes, coaches, and parents, providing information and assistance as needed.
Safety and Compliance:
Ensure all safety protocols are followed and assist in maintaining a safe environment for all participants.
Other Duties:
Perform other tasks as assigned by the coaching staff or event coordinators.
Qualifications:
Strong interest in track and field or sports in general.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Reliable, punctual, and able to commit to the full season.
Basic knowledge of track and field events is a plus, but not required.

Safety and Compliance:

Administrative Tasks:
Maintain accurate records of athlete attendance, performance, and progress.

Qualifications:

Support and promote Minnetonka Community Education and Minnetonka Volleyball’s philosophies regarding player development.
Implement program goals and guidelines.
Effectively communicate practice and game schedules with parents and participants.
