    Position Contract: 12-Month, Non-Exempt, Support Staff, Grade 4

    General Description:

    Metro Technology Centers is accepting applications for Financial Aid Representative who will serve as the Financial Aid’s primary point of contact for students and community customers including managing incoming calls, answering customer service inquiries, identifying and assessing customer needs to achieve satisfaction with accuracy and efficiency. Performs administrative duties requiring good organizational skills.

    General Qualification Requirements: 

    Education:
    • High school diploma, general education degree, or equivalent.
    • Administrative assistant experience preferred.
    (Above requirements may be met by equivalent combination of education and experience)

    Representative Duties:
    1. Professionally greets students, clients, and community partners by phone, in person, and via email.
    2. Recommends new approaches and procedures to effect continuous improvements in services to clients.
    3. Interviews students, providing information on financial aid programs and veterans educational benefits, analyzing student needs.
    4. Process incoming financial aid and veterans educational benefit forms.
    5. Responsible for monitoring and making sure the Financial Aid and Veterans pages of the Metro Tech website are accurate and up to date.
    6. Maintains both electronic and hard copy office and student aid files.
    7. Assists students with completing the FAFSA, entrance counseling, exit counseling, promissory note and all other required Metro Tech forms.
    8. Works efficiently with Student Services Representatives to assist students.
    9. Maintains current working knowledge of pertinent state and federal regulations.
    10. Responsible for incoming and outgoing mail.
    11. Assist in planning Financial Aid community service and special events.
    12. Willing to be crossed trained in all aspects of Financial Aid.
    13. Performs related duties as assigned.

    Required Knowledges, Skills and Abilities:
    • Keyboarding and computer skills with basic word processing and spreadsheet skills.
    • Excellent communication skills to include telephone etiquette and presentation skills.
    • Ability to problem solve and think critically.
    • Ability to maintain security of confidential materials.
    • Ability to give explicit or general directions.
    • Ability to work well with others.
    • Reading and writing skill necessary for composing routine correspondence providing standard information in letter or report form.
    • Reliable, dependable and punctual attendance.
