PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Identify and assist students and their families, and school systems in overcoming barriers that interfere with learning through the use of assessment, counseling, consultation, and coordination of school and community resources. Organize and implement counseling services in treating mental, behavioral, and emotional problems and disorders.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
1. Master’s Degree or higher
2. Must hold current License as a LPC Associate in Texas
Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
1. Must be able to manage a student caseload for multiple campuses simultaneously
2. Thorough knowledge of social services and programs available to meet a range of mental health, physical health, academic, and social service needs, as well as knowledge of state, local, and federal laws impacting the lives of students (e.g. laws regarding child abuse and neglect).
3. Ability to conduct interventions within a broad range of settings in a professional manner and with acumen.
4. Must be able to work independently demonstrating persistence, self-motivation, and excellent communication, organizational and time management skills.
5. Ability work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, maintain appropriate boundaries, and serve as a liaison between school and community.
 Experience:
1. A minimum of one to two years of successful work experience in general mental health and behavioral counseling including crisis intervention and/or trauma counseling.
2. One year experience working with PK-12 and/or college students (preferred)

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Instructional Management
1. Conducts assessments of students and families with the goal of improving student social, emotional, behavioral, and academic outcomes.
2. Conducts reliable and valid assessments of students and families to inform the design of interventions to remove barriers to learning.
3. Assists in curriculum writing for mental health, including instruction about mental health conditions, substance abuse, skills to manage emotions, establishing and maintaining positive relationships, and responsible decision-making; and suicide prevention, including recognizing suicide-related risk factors and warning signs as required by Senate Bill 11 of the 86^th Legislature.
4. Completes assessment of campus needs to prioritize service delivery.
5. Provides consultation to school personnel, parents/guardians, and community partners for the purpose of enhancing their understanding of student needs, developing effective interventions, and building school capacity.
6.  Cooperates with administrators and teachers to provide guidance on appropriate classroom placement as well as assisting in procedures for grouping of students.
7. Assists in the 504/special education referral process, developing behavioral intervention plans and participate in the 504/ARD meetings when appropriate.

8. Communicates effectively and maintains a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents, and community members.
9. Serve on threat assessment and safe and supportive school team.

10. Provides counseling, consultation, and coordination of services to meet mental health needs of the student.
11. Counsels and serves as a resource for parents/guardians on problems affecting the educational, physical, emotional, or social growth of the student.
12. Provides behavioral counseling including crisis intervention and addressing mental health issues.
13. Develops and provides staff development in the areas of crisis intervention/counseling and mental health/behavioral issues such as alcohol/substance abuse, suicide prevention, grief and trauma-informed practices, mental health or psychological first aid, medications, bulling prevention, healthy relationships, internet safety, child/sexual/physical/emotional abuse, and training related to the safe and supportive school program.
14. Supports school counselors and school resources officers identifying students who may be at risk of hurting themselves or others and to establish a safe mental health placement for student (Section 26 & 28).
Administration and Fiscal/Facilities Management
15. Complies with district policies, as well as state and federal guidelines.
16. Implements programs within budget limits.
Student Management
17. Works cooperatively with principal, attendance clerks and attendance officers to provide information concerning students.
18. Provides support with issues including substance abuse, bullying, anger management, careers, depression, relationships, LGBTQ issues, self-image, stress and suicide.
19. Utilizes effective counseling techniques with individual, classroom, and/or groups of students to provide assistance in meeting educational, occupational, and mental health needs.
20. Provides crisis counseling and consultation to students and their families.
21. Keeps counseling relationship confidential except when the student’s condition requires intervention in accordance with policy.
22. Develops counseling plans and goal setting for students.
23. Conferences with students, teachers, and parents concerning failing grades and work for improvement.
24. Recruits for and/or coordinate special interests programs.
25. Initiates schedule changes to accommodate needs of students.
26. Assists students through crises and life challenges they face in connection with mental health, developmental disabilities and addiction diseases.
Professional Growth and Development
27. Attends in-services, workshops and participates in local, state and national professional organizations.
28. Conducts oneself in a professional, ethnical manner in accordance with board policies, administrative regulations and employee handbook; complies with TEA code.

PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Responsible for Maintenance/Facilities/Construction to direct and manage construction and district maintenance operations.  Maintain physical school plant in a condition of operating excellence so that full educational use may be made at all times. Provide students with a physical learning environment that is safe, clean, attractive, and functional.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education / Certification:
1. Certification / License in a Construction Field preferred
2. Bachelor’s Degree required

5. Manages, assigns, and inspects work of maintenance, custodial and construction staff along with equipment.
6. Coordinates work of outside contractors and advises management on specifics of proposals or ongoing projects as required.
7. Participates in planning programs involving physical plant, custodial, grounds, or service industries as required.
8. Assists in developing projected 5-Year Capital Improvements Projects for consideration by District.
9. Works closely with vendors, architects, engineers, and project manager for new or renovation projects.
10. Keep all stakeholders aware of the progress on projects and prepare progress reports regularly using various software programs.
Policy, Reports, and Law
11. Implements federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy in Maintenance Department.
12. Compiles, maintains, and files all reports, records, and other documents, required in Maintenance Department.
13. Knowledgeable of building codes and regulations, and city ordinances.
14. Develops training options and improvement plans to ensure exemplary operation of Maintenance.
Budget and Inventory
15. Administers Maintenance Department budget and ensures that programs are cost-effective and funds are managed prudently.
16. Monitors the purchase, use, care and replacement of materials and equipment.
17. Approves and forwards invoices and purchase orders from Maintenance Department to Accounting Department.
18. Ensures in overseeing inventory of property and audits inventory results.
19. Ensures in the preparation of budget requests. 
Personnel Management
20. Supervises all personnel in the Maintenance Department.
21. Develops a management climate and assures that the Maintenance Department is people friendly and that all people are treated with respect and dignity at all times, and supportive of all employees.
22. Encourages participation in up-to-date training, when and where available, for the personal and professional growth of all employees.
23. Oversees completion of work assigned to maintenance personnel.
24. Responsible for supervising maintenance personnel and makes sound recommendations about personnel placement, transfer, retention, and dismissal; Evaluates job performance of employees to ensure effectiveness.
25. Confers with staff regarding job, work load, and job priorities.
26. Prepares, reviews, and revises Maintenance Department job descriptions.
Safety
27. Perform facility management control system scheduling for normal school day, after hours and off-day activities.
28. Perform routine inspections and energy audits of each facility during and after school hours to ensure each facility is operating efficiently and in compliance with the overall program.
29. Responsible for organizing and conducting trainings to promote a safe work environment to ensure that employees and him/herself will work in the safest manner possible to prevent injury to him/herself and others; ensures the use of personal preventive equipment.
30. Maintains safety standards in conformance with federal, state, and insurance regulations and develops a program of preventive safety.
31. Ensures that security measures are taken to protect supplies and equipment is maintained in operating and optimum condition.
32. Inspects construction, remodeling, and renovation sites to ensure the finished project will be in compliance with safety standards; inspects work activities and areas to identify hazards and recommends appropriate corrective action.

33. Works outside of regular assigned work schedule that may involve night and/or weekend duty as requested.
34. Demonstrates awareness of district-community needs and initiates activities to meet those identified needs.

7. Plans and supervises assignments of teacher aide(s) and volunteer(s).
8. Uses technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process.
9. Cooperates with other members of the staff in planning and implementing instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to district requirements.

PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth.  Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
1. Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
2. Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned
Special Knowledge/Skills:
1. Knowledge of subject(s) assigned
2. General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
3. Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
4. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
 
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Instructional Strategies
1. Develops and implements lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of district’s curriculum program and show written evidence of preparation as required.
2. Prepares lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in student learning styles.
3. Presents subject matter according to guidelines established by Texas Education Agency, board policies, and administrative regulations.
4. Plans and uses appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned. 
5. Conducts assessment of student learning styles and uses results to plan instructional activities.
6. Works cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula as needed for special education students according to guidelines established in Individual Education Plans (IEP).
7. Plans and supervises assignments of teacher aide(s) and volunteer(s).
8. Uses technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process.
9. Cooperates with other members of the staff in planning and implementing instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to district requirements.
Student Growth and Development
10. Helps students analyze and improve study methods and habits.
11. Conducts ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
12. Assumes responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned.  Sponsors outside activities approved by the campus principal.
13. Be a positive role model for students, support mission of school district.
Classroom Management and Organization
14. Manages student behavior in the classroom and administers discipline according to board polices, administrative regulations, student code of conduct, and IEP.
15. Creates classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
16. Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
17. Assists in selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials.
Communication
18. Establishes and maintains open communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, principals, and teachers.
19. Maintains a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents, and community members.
20. Uses effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.

FOR INSTRUCTION OUTSIDE A TYPICAL CLASSROOM SETTING (e.g. P.E. Teachers, Fine Arts Instructors, Shop Instructors, etc.) the following physical requirements must be addressed:
• Constant walking, standing, and movement to ensure safety and well-being of students in large open areas such as playgrounds, gyms, football fields, shop areas, etc.
• Physical activity, modeling, and directing instruction in front of large group setting of students in order to define/model expected and appropriate behaviors
• Lifting, carrying, or pulling of instructional equipment such as balls, instruments, cases, tools, etc. which are necessary to the instructional delivery of the lesson
• Exposure to various climate settings and temperatures relative to classroom instruction within/outside school building/facility

13. Document student present levels of academic achievement and functional performance and collect data to measure and project academic and behavioral growth.
14. Assumes responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned. Sponsors outside activities approved by the campus principal.

3. Administer the classroom its program, maintaining order and discipline among the pupils; and be responsible for pupil accounting, keeping records accurate and complete and making such reports as may be required.

5. Provide for adequate care and protection of school property and the overall appearance of the classroom, shop or lab, turning off lights, fans, air conditioners and heaters when not in the room; and be responsible for textbooks issued to them by the principal.
6. Observe children in the classroom for signs or symptoms of illness or other health difficulties, notifying the principal or school nurse if a child shows signs or complains of feeling sick.
7. Maintain a cordial and workable relationship with colleagues in the school system; and participate in the activities of the staff.

PRIMARY PURPOSE:
To assist with the maintenance of a safe and orderly school environment for students and staff; protect and secure all property, equipment, buildings, etc., located at the school campus.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
1. High school diploma or GED certificate
2. Texas Commission on Private Security (TCPS) Level Two Certification
Special Knowledge/Skills:
1. Demonstrate competence and willingness to perform assigned duties
 
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
1. Patrols and supervises hallways, restrooms, entrance ways, parking lots, driveways, and other areas of the school.
2. Reports rule violations and offenders to Director for Maintenance and Security, school administrators, and SRO officer.
3. Monitors campus pedestrians and vehicular traffic.
4. Works with MPD/MCISD/SRO Police Officers to keep the building clear of people not on official school business.
5. Inspects all doors, windows, parked cars, or any suspicious conditions.
6. Stops disturbances and undue distractions on school grounds.
7. Assists law enforcement officers and completes affidavits as necessary.
8. Participates in training, orientation, and maintains, at own expense Level Two Certification (TCPS).
9. Confers with MPD/MCISD Police Officers on matters of concern, and notifies authorities of any situation requiring attention.
10. Prepares written reports of incidents; keeps current on school laws and policies which affect students and staff.
11. Works cooperatively with other security officers, SRO officers, and campus staff to promote a safe school environment.
12. Performs all duties in a safe manner to avoid injury to oneself and/or others.
13. Performs other related duties as assigned by Director for Maintenance and Security.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Help meet physical and instructional needs of students with disabilities in a self-contained classroom.  Assist in implementation of classroom programs, including self-help, behavior management, and instruction programs. Work under general supervisor of principal and immediate direction of certified teacher.
 
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
1. High school diploma or GED certificate
2. Meet state certification requirements
3. Minimum 48 college hours
Special Knowledge/Skills:
1. Demonstrated interest in and aptitude for the work to be performed.
2. Work well with students with disabilities
3. Ability to communicate effectively
4. Follow written and verbal directives
 
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assists under the supervision of the Special Education teacher with the arrival and departure of students.
2. Prepares for classroom activities under the direction of the Special Education teacher.  Keep classroom displays acceptable, keep classroom clean, have instructional materials ready to use as needed by teacher.
3. Works with individual or small groups of handicapped students to reinforce lessons/activities initially introduced by the teacher and to assist with classroom experiments, demonstrations, etc.
4. Assists with any remedial drills, reading or storytelling keeping accurate records of student progress and performance.
5. Helps students take care of physical needs and personal care including feeding, bathroom needs and personal hygiene.
6. Helps manage behavior of students.  This includes intervening in crisis situations and restraining a student who becomes a danger to himself/herself and others.
7. Assist and intervene in situations such as prevention of self-abusive and aggressive behaviors through use of District Crisis Management training. 
8. Helps students follow teachers’ instructions through physical management such as prevention of self abusive and/or aggressive behaviors in which students may engage.
9. Assumes responsibility for learning and adapting to each student’s special medical, physical, communicative and emotional needs.
10. Works with assigned student or small group of students to develop Fine/Gross and social motor skills, and conduct exercise activities assigned by the teacher.
11. Assists assigned students throughout school day, inside and outside classroom including lunchroom, bus, and playground duty.
12. Assists students during transition from class to class.
13. Keeps teacher informed of special needs or problems of assigned students.
14. Keeps documentation of students’ medical procedures, behavior patterns, etc.
15. Participates in staff development programs, faculty meetings, and special events as needed.
16. Maintains confidentiality.
17. Performs other work-related duties as assigned by Special Education teacher.
18. Upholds and enforces school rules, administrative regulations, and state and local board policy.

• Lifting, carrying, or pulling of instructional equipment such as balls, instruments, cases, tools, etc. which are necessary to the instructional delivery of the lesson

PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Provide for the physical, behavioral and instructional needs of individual students with disabilities inside and outside the classroom. Assist in the implementation of individual education plans, including self-help, communication, behavior management, and instruction.  Work under the general supervision of the principal/strategist/specialist and the immediate direction of a certified teacher.  Provide assistance to the bus driver in loading and unloading students who are in wheelchairs or who cannot use the bus steps.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
1. Assists under the supervision of the Special Education teacher with the arrival and departure of students.
2. Prepares for classroom activities under the direction of the Special Education teacher.  Keeps classroom displays acceptable, keeps classroom clean, have instructional materials ready to use as needed by teacher.
3. Works with individual or small groups of students to reinforce lessons/activities initially introduced by the teacher and to assist with classroom experiments, demonstrations, etc.
4. Assists with any remedial drills, reading or storytelling keeping accurate records of student progress and performance.
5. Helps students take care of physical needs and personal care including feeding, bathroom needs and personal hygiene.
6. Helps manage behavior of students and implements behavior change programs.  This includes intervening in crisis situations and restraining a student who becomes a danger to himself/herself and others.
7. Assists and intervene in situations such as prevention of self-abusive and aggressive behaviors through use of District Crisis Management training.
8. Assumes responsibility for learning and adapting to each student’s special medical, physical, communicative and emotional needs. Provide feedback to students on their programs.
9. Builds and maintains positive relationships with student.
10. Works with assigned student or small group of students to develop social motor skills, conducts exercise activities assigned by the teacher or implement structured communication or behavioral programming as designed. 
11. Assists assigned students throughout school day, inside and outside classroom including lunchroom, bus, and playground.
12. Assists students during transition from class to class.
13. Keeps teacher informed of special needs or problems of assigned students.
14. Keeps documentation of students’ medical procedures, behavior patterns, etc.
15. Participates in staff development programs, faculty meetings, and special events as required.
