JOB TITLE: Junior Varsity Baseball Coach
LOCATION: Greenville High School
HOURS: Seasonal
COMPENSATION: This position is paid as a stipend in accordance with the Greenville Education Association Master Agreement.
JOB SUMMARY: The junior varsity boys baseball coach is responsible for coaching, character development, and providing direction to student athletes so that they might achieve a high level of skill as well as an appreciation for discipline, sportsmanship and teamwork in baseball.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: other duties may be assigned
Responsible for forming teams and providing them with high-level training and competitions
Sport specific knowledge in drills, rules, and strategies
Responsible for representing the school and its community in a professional manner
In constant contact with the Athletic Director and reports back on game results
Promote team-oriented goal setting, accountability, and clear expectations
Promote sportsmanship, foster character development; monitor progress of individual athletes
Supervise students in practice areas, on buses, and during games
Maintain equipment and assist with uniform distribution/collection
Maintain accurate and complete student records
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Previous coaching experience in baseball strongly preferred
Experience working with high school-aged youth
Fundamental knowledge of sport/coaching
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Ability to work well with other coaches, parents and student athletes
Knowledge of MHSAA policies preferred
Must be able to pass a background check with no criminal history
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma

Supervise players, volunteers, and assistant coaches
