GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:  To provide basic public school nursing services in the examination and treatment of
patients to promote, maintain and restore good health in support of the goals of the District.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Associate’s Degree in Nursing; experience working with children and persons with disabilities is desirable;
OR an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge and skill.  Must pass a thorough background
investigation.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:  To assist students in school classrooms and nurse's office with personal health and
hygiene and to provide assistance to Teachers and Nurse as needed. Performs other duties as assigned.
 
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  Work is performed in a classroom environment, with moderate physical requirements.  Required to
perform the following physical requirements of the position with reasonable accommodation: vision corrected to 20/20, ability to hear in the
normal range (corrected), able to speak clearly, and able to lift, move and carry up to 40 pounds. 
 
 REQUIRED LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:  First Aid and CPR certifications are required.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:  
•  Provides consultation, training and support to health office staff on policies and procedures
• Coordinates and facilitates projects
• Complies, prepares and reports data in accordance with federal, state and district programs
• Assists with assessment, evaluation and effectiveness of current health and safety needs of students and staff
• Provides services in areas of first aid and emergency care procedures
• Monitor legislative issues that impact schools
• Account for all health services equipment
• Monitor the health services web page; review annually and update with current recommended practices
• Monitor health services documents for uniformity
• Attend IEP, 504 and safety meetings for the district
• Develop Healthcare Plans
• Meet with administration and discuss any new procedures that affect the health services department/district
• Arrange for health services meetings, including welcome back meeting
• Arrange for transportation services training on student’s needs
• Track and report communicable disease
• Assist HR with placing student nurses in schools that have an RN willing to mentor nursing students
• Work with ESS to ensure 1:1 nurse coverage for children
• Support interviewing candidates
• Advise on ordering practices
• Other duties as assigned
