SUMMARY:
The Elementary STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) Coach supports teachers in integrating STEAM-based instruction into the curriculum to enhance student engagement and achievement. This role involves coaching educators, developing interdisciplinary lessons, and fostering a hands-on, inquiry-based learning environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Instructional Support & Coaching
Collaborate with teachers to design and implement STEAM-integrated lessons.
Model effective teaching strategies and provide feedback to enhance instructional practices.
Assist in the development of arts integrated and project-based learning (PBL) activities that promote critical thinking and problem-solving.
Curriculum Development & Integration
Align STEAM instruction with state standards and district initiatives.
Develop cross-curricular units that incorporate technology, engineering, and the arts.
- Research and introduce innovative instructional resources and tools.

Collaboration & Community Engagement
Partner with administrators, teachers, and external organizations to enhance STEAM programming.
Engage families and the community in STEAM initiatives through events and outreach.
Seek grants and funding opportunities to support STEAM education.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises small groups of students.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Master’s degree preferred, Minimum of five years teaching experience and South Carolina Teacher Certification
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Valid South Carolina Elementary and/or Early Childhood Teaching Certificate
LANGUAGE SKILLS :
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of administrators, staff and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional program; ability to plan and implement lessons based on division and school objectives and the needs and abilities of students to whom assigned. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers and parents; skill in oral and written communication. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
