Maintains confidential records and files Make bus reservations for various field trips
Prepares minutes of various meetings; prepares and updates teacher & student handbook
Prepares, organizes and distributes correspondence, reports and mailings
Searches files for information needed in compiling statistical and financial reports
Prepares budgetary, statistical data, requisitions, purchase orders and payroll related items
Provides clerical and related duties to staff and administration; scans historical records
Answers phones and questions, takes messages and routes calls
Maintains necessary communication either oral or written
Enrolls new students and corresponds with their previous school
Orders supplies and equipment
Assists with or maintains supply room
Reconciles bank and/or VISA statements
Requisitions repairs
Travels between buildings when required
Maintains calendar of events
Inputs information on computer including Power School, student contacts
Tracks in and out suspensions, students of the month, fire/evacuation plans, office
detention schedule, afternoon attendance sheets
Dispenses medication when required
Checks and processes a variety of documents, maintains follow-up records and maintains files
Assists with preparation and organization relating to June and August Graduation
Helps coordinate and plan special events and makes required reservations for events
Maintains detention staffing and calendar
Manages student traffic to and from office area; monitors student behavior while in office area
Creates duties and schedules; finds coverage for lunch and bus duties
Updates MEDMS with behavior information
Maintain IPAD take home privileges and insurance
Processes all Leave Requests
Coordinates School’s Summer Program
Stores and prints Report and Progress Report Cards for grades 3 – 6
Enters and exits students from Infinite Campus
Keeps a schedule of night usage of the school gym
Assists school psychological service providers with copies of grades, test scores,
attendance and log entries on students being tested

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or GED and a minimum of 5 years of prior clerical experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before parents, staff and students.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer and related software. Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff and the school community. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and School Committee policies. Knowledge of general office methods and procedures. Ability to greet people courteously. Knowledge of accounting.Ability to perform arithmetic functions accurately. Ability to handle multiple tasks.
