POSITION SUMMARY: The Principal of LADSE North Programs serves as the instructional and operational leader of LADSE North and LRB Academy by providing a clear vision of learning for all students; ensuring a safe, secure, and orderly educational environment; and cultivating strong relationships with LADSE stakeholders, including students, families, and LADSE member districts.
REPORTS TO: Emotional Development Network Coordinator
QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s Degree in Special Education or related field
Professional Educator License Administrative endorsement preferred
(Principal endorsement or Type 75)
Professional Educator License endorsement as LBS 1, School Social Worker, or School Psychologist
Completion of ISBE Teacher Evaluation course preferred
Experience working with students with disabilities, especially students with complex social/emotional learning needs

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Establish and maintain an effective educational and learning climate by carrying out and communicating the educational goals of the program.
Promote and model the use of evidence-based practices
Review and update of student handbooks
Supervision and evaluation of ED Network certified and non-certified staff
Oversee daily staffing assignments and management of personnel and substitutes
Maintain communication with families and member district staff regarding student progress and concerns
Assist in problem-solving student behavioral concerns
Assist in addressing transportation issues
Assist in the planning and implementation of professional development opportunities for staff
Utilize conflict resolution strategies and problem-solving skills to address child, family, team, and/or organizational issues
Lead and facilitate IEP meetings
Provide direct support to students as needed.
Collaborate with community based service providers and resources
Coordinate annual state testing (IAR, ISA, DLM, PSAT, SAT) for enrolled students
Assist in implementation of school lunch program
Maintain and monitor a system of employee attendance accountability
Pursues professional development opportunities in the field of educational leadership and supporting students with emotional disabilities
Oversee daily building cleaning and maintenance and serve as liaison to Director of Business Services regarding performance and/or concerns
Supervise office assistant and school nurse with record keeping, state reporting and budget development
Lead efforts to create and maintain staff morale
Contribute to efforts to build parent involvement
Contribute to efforts to develop school projects that enhance student learning and engagement.

LADSE is seeking paraprofessionals to work with students with disabilities in a variety of settings. Paras are needed to work with students that are on the Autism Spectrum, students with Significant Multiple Disabilities, Early Childhood Education, and students with Behavioral/Emotional needs.
The pay rate $17.00 per hour, with benefits. Full-time positions are available. typcial hours are 8:15am - 3:15pm.

Full time teaching position. It is a public school postion that contributes to TRS. The special education teacher will be responsible for implementing the IEPs for students in a self-contained classroom structured for students with autism. Domain 1: Planning and Preparation
Assist the classroom team in developing, organizing, preparing, and implementing instructional materials.
Promote a classroom culture that conveys dignity and respect and views all students as competent learners.
Assist in the development and update of individual student’s health plans and provide classroom staff with necessary instruction.
Domain 2: Classroom Environment
Assist classroom staff in maintaining a clean, safe and organized environment for students that promotes learning and independence.
Provide assistance in implementing behavior management plans in all educational environments, under the direction of the classroom team.
Monitor the use and care of equipment and materials within the educational environment to prevent injuries and damage.
Accompany child on bus when appropriate.
Domain 3: Delivery of Instruction
Provide physical care as needed, including toileting, diapering, feeding, grooming and transfer
Provide direct nursing services, first aid, illness, and emergency care to students in response to the nursing assessment and in accordance with professional standards, school policy and procedures and state and local mandates.
Administer medication with appropriate documentation.
Communicate students’ daily health and educational experiences to team members, including parents.
Implement daily lessons that align with curriculum and students’ individual goals and objectives.
Model positive/communication-based behavioral approaches, as directed by the educational team.
