  •   This is a full-time year round position as a member of our technology team working throughout the District. 
    Pay range is between $22.09 - $33.61 per hour depending on experience.

    Purpose Statement
    The job of Technology Technician is done for the purpose/s of installing, troubleshooting and
    maintaining computer hardware and peripheral equipment; diagnosing and repairing hardware and
    network failures; providing technical support to site administrators; and resolving school site
    operational issues.
    This job reports to Director of Technology Innovation
    Essential Functions
    Assesses malfunctions of computer hardware, software applications or electronic equipment for the
    purpose of identifying repair and replacement needs.
    Attends school site and departmental meetings for the purpose of providing and/or gathering information
    relating to job functions.
    Coordinates repair work schedules with school and district office personnel for the purpose of minimizing
    disruption of services and/or inconvenience.
    Diagnoses equipment failures for the purpose of identifying needed repairs and/or ensuring equipment is
    in proper working order.
    Installs computer hardware, peripherals, and application software (e.g. adjusting, repairing, replacing
    parts, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining overall site operations.
    Maintains manual and electronic documents, files and records (e.g. preventive maintenance, purchases,
    inspections, repair logs, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, conveying information and/or
    providing an up-to-date reference and audit trail.
    Orders parts through approved processes and vendors for the purpose of maintaining inventory and
    ensuring availability of items as needed.
    Performs basic network troubleshooting (e.g. identify issues resulting from content filter classification,
    etc.) for the purpose of maintaining critical site operation.
    Prepares written materials (e.g. status reports, instructions, user guides, etc.) for the purpose of
    documenting activities, providing written reference and/or conveying information.
    Prepares technology for student assessments for the purpose of ensuring secure browser environment
    for state student assessment.
    Repairs and troubleshoots computers, peripherals, and electronic equipment (e.g. projectors, video
    cameras/recorders, electronic controllers, audio and video controllers, etc.) for the purpose of
    maintaining equipment in a safe and functional operating condition.
    Researches a variety of topics for the purpose of making recommendations regarding products and/or
    vendors to use for repairs and/or supplies.
    Responds to a variety of questions from site staff, parents and students for the purpose of providing
    timely information, guidance or referral.
    Supports asset inventory system for the purpose of assisting with lifecycle management.

    Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications
    Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
    SKILLS are required to perform multiple, technical tasks with a need to periodically upgrade skills in order to meet
    changing job conditions. Specific skill based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job
    include: utilizing diagnostic tools (i.e. network tester, ohm meter, hand tools, soldering equipment, air compressor,
    cleaners, etc.); adhering to safety practices; and maintaining accurate records.
    KNOWLEDGE is required to perform basic math, including calculations using fractions, percents, and/or ratios; read
    technical information, compose a variety of documents, and/or facilitate group discussions; and solve practical
    problems. Specific knowledge based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include:
    maintenance, and repair of microcomputers, printers, disk drives, monitors, and interface devices; operation of
    computer and electronic test equipment and tools; principles of digital electronics; operation of electronic test
    equipment; electricity and electronic computers; record keeping; safety measures; and basic inventory procedures.
    ABILITY is required to schedule activities; gather and/or collate data; and consider a variety of factors when using
    equipment. Flexibility is required to work with others in a wide variety of circumstances; work with data utilizing
    defined and similar processes; and operate equipment using a variety of standardized methods. Ability is also
    required to work with a wide diversity of individuals; work with a variety of data; and utilize a wide variety of types of
    job-related equipment. Problem solving is required to identify issues and create action plans. Problem solving with
    data requires independent interpretation of guidelines; and problem solving with equipment is significant. Specific
    ability based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: adapting to changing
    work priorities; establishing effective working relationships; displaying mechanical aptitude; communicating with
    technologically diverse groups; being attentive to detail; and working under time constraints.
    Responsibility
    Responsibilities include: working under limited supervision using standardized practices and/or methods; leading,
    guiding, and/or coordinating others; operating within a defined budget. Utilization of some resources from other work
    units is often required to perform the job's functions. There is a continual opportunity to have some impact on the
    organization’s services.
    Work Environment
    The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands:
    significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, significant stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and
    significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 45% sitting, 30% walking, 25% standing. The job is
    performed under conditions with some exposure to risk of injury and/or illness.

    Job related experience is required.
    Targeted, job related education with study in job-related area.
    directly related technology experience, preferably in educational environment.
    Required Testing Certificates and Licenses

    Supports classroom activities for technology related classes (e.g. Applied Technology, Performing Arts,
    Library Media Center and Telecommunications, etc.) for the purpose of providing information regarding
    procedures, processes and safety.
