Part-time positions are available for ACES Child Care Assistants at multiple elementary school during the school year. Part-time to full-time positions are available at select locations during the summer. ACES is a child care program for elementary age students in various schools throughout the district.
Major Responsibilities:
Supervise and lead a group of students
Provide appropriate behavior guidance and disciplinary action as needed
Build a community and establish a welcoming, engaging, respectful, and cooperative environment
Teach and model social skills, personal responsibility, problem solving, respect and other life skills
Assist with set up and clean up as directed
Maintain strong verbal, non verbal and written communication with program staff and stakeholders
Work to maintain a safe, positive, environment for the continual well-being of each child
Must participate with children in active indoor and outdoor recreational activities including swimming and walking
Maintain a clean, attractive environment in all programming areas
Attend all staff meetings and required trainings
Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
Must be 16 years of age or older
Must pass a background check through the Minnesota Department of Human Services
Must have the ability to work as a team and independently
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidential information
Current First Aid and CPR certification or must be obtained within first 90 days of employment
Must be physically working in the building
Hours:
Before School: 6:15am - 8:00am (Bridges shift ends at 8:20am)
After School: 2:15pm - 5/6:00pm (Bridges shift begins at 2:35pm)
Scheduled Non-School Days & Summer: The program operates from 6:30 am-6:00 pm on scheduled non school days and during the summer at select locations. Shifts are subject to change based on attendance trends and student needs.
Rate of Pay: $13.00- $14.25/hr

Communicate and interact with staff, students, and parents/guardians clearly with kindness and respect
Support a safe and positive environment by following procedures and asking questions of supervisor

Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications Required:
Must be 15 years of age
Must ensure availability to commute to the assigned work site as required
ACES is a child care program for elementary age students in various schools throughout the district. Child Care Assistant Substitutes are on an on-call basis based on program needs. Responsibilities include working under site leadership to lead a safe and engaging environment for children enrolled in the program. This position is responsible for independently implementing age-appropriate activities as planned by site leadership for a group of up to 15 children and/or jointly responsible for leading larger groups in cooperation with other staff members.
Hours: Substitute hours are on an on-call basis for before school, after school, on scheduled non-school days, and during the summer.
Summary of Duties: ACES is a child care program for preschool and elementary age students in various schools throughout the district. The Early Learning Aide works under site leadership to lead a safe and engaging environment for children enrolled in the program. This position is responsible for independently implementing age-appropriate activities as planned by site leadership for a group of up to 10 children and/or jointly responsible for leading larger groups in cooperation with other staff members.
Childcare experience working with same-age children
Fluent in speaking the English language
Current First Aid and CPR certification, or must be obtained within first 90 days of employment
To lift up to 40 lbs for an extended amount of time
To physically carry out job tasks: sitting on the floor, running, walking, lifting
Rate of Pay: $15.00-$15.75/hrr

ACES School Age Care Program
MAPS Community Education ACES School Age Care Program has Site Lead positions available at various elementary locations.
Summary of Duties: ACES is a child care program for elementary age students in various schools throughout the district. Site Leads are responsible for the supervision of an ACES site including activity planning and implementation, maintaining a safe environment for students, and daily communication with parents/guardians.

Before School: 6:15 am until the start of school’s adult supervision
After School 2:00 pm-6:00 pm
Non School Days & Summer:
6-8 hours/day, shift varies based on program needs

MAPS Community Education ACES School Age Care Program has a position available as ACES Site Specialists beginning as soon as possible. This is a full-time, 12-month, Non-affiliated position eligible for Category II benefits.
Summary of Duties: ACES is a DHS certified child care program for elementary age students at Mankato Area Public Schools. The Site Specialist is responsible for overseeing the delivery and management of ACES programming at assigned locations year-round.
