Position: High School  Assistant Principal
Work Schedule:  236 Days/Year, Full-time
Start Date: 08/01/25
Pay: $126,455 - $147,661 (prorated based on August 1 start date)
Benefits:  Benefits are available per the Principal labor agreement

Required Qualifications and Skills:
• Holds current MN K-12 administrative license.
• Has a minimum of five (5) years of teaching experience and two (2) years of teacher leadership experience.
• Strong background and understanding of special education and multilingual learners. 
• Holds high expectations for students, staff and themself.  
• Builds strong relationships with students, families, staff, and the community.
• Experience, desire, empathy and understanding to meet diverse student and family needs.
• Provides and enforces clear structures, rules and procedures for students and staff to protect instructional time. 
• Makes effective and timely decisions even under conditions of risk, ambiguity and pressure. Includes stakeholders in the process.
• Develops innovative and original approaches to family engagement, student achievement and school culture.
• Understands best practices in curriculum, instruction and assessment. 
• Demonstrates credibility as an effective teacher and instructional leader. 
• Articulates views concisely and logically; listens well and responds to input.  
• Gives and receives both recognition and constructive criticism.
• Develops and maintains positive, collaborative and cooperative relationships with others.  
• Deals with conflicts or disagreements logically and effectively rather than avoiding or aggravating them.
• Evidence of organization, energy, tenacity and persistence to accomplish goals.  Displays a wide range of behaviors and can adapt to a variety of situations and audiences. 
• Holds strong professional beliefs about schools, teaching and learning and demonstrates behaviors that are consistent with these beliefs. 
• Candidates fluent in Spanish, Hmong or Somali preferred.
