    Position Summary

    The Adult Basic Education (ABE) ESL Teacher provides English Language reading, writing, speaking, listening, and digital literacy instruction to adults 17 and older in accordance with ABE Content Standards; lesson planning for multiple levels; monitoring, adapting, and assessing student progress; assisting with intake; creating Individual Learning Plans; and collecting and recording attendance and all necessary information in a timely manner.

     Primary Duties:
    1. Teach ABE classes in accordance with Minnesota Department of Education Adult Basic Education Content Standards.
    2. Create and develop daily lesson plans for students, volunteers, and substitute teachers, and provide daily direction for volunteers, using ABE curriculum.
    3. Monitor and assist students in meeting their goals and making Measurable Skill Gains on assessments and adapt as necessary.
    4. Integrate digital literacy into lessons as appropriate.
    5. Utilize state-approved distance learning platforms, assign lessons and homework, and integrate into regular instruction.
    6. Teach individuals who have a wide range of first languages and formal education levels.
    7. Collect, record and report student information in a timely manner.
    8. Initiate and engage in regular, weekly student outreach and retention.
    9. Communicate with students regarding any schedule changes.
    10. Collaborate in a professional manner with ABE staff and volunteers to ensure that student and program needs and goals are met.
    11. Assist ABE Manager with MDE and other reporting requirements related to instruction.
    12. Participate in staff meetings and Professional Learning Communities as requested.
    13. Participate in ABE professional development as assigned.
    14. Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:
    1. Certified (license required): Current MN teaching license or a bachelor's or master's degree in English as a second language, applied linguistics, or bilingual education, or a related degree as approved by the commissioner, per Minnesota State Statute 122A.26.
    2. Bachelor’s Degree
    3. Experience teaching Adult English Language Learners
    4. Knowledge of ABE content standards, teaching practices, and challenges, as well as an understanding of adult learning and the unique needs of adult learners preferred

    Description:
    As the primary contact for user groups outside the regular instructional day, respond to user group needs and monitor user group activities and community members and perform light custodial duties. Assist users with registration for future classes and keep information at the site up-todate.  

    Essential functions of the job include but are not limited to the following:
     Arrive prior to facility users and ensure that user facility equipment needs set up and are being met throughout use;
     Review building expectations with user group coordinator;
     Actively move about the building and be accessible to user group members;
     Be visible, available and accessible to user group coordinators to ensure a satisfactory experience;
     Monitor community members within schools and ensure that facilities are treated with respect;
     Provide passive supervision of individuals and notify user group coordinators if problems arise;
     Communicate any issues or concerns to Athletics/Activities Specialist;
     Perform light custodial duties during and after user group activities such as sweeping hallways, emptying trash, maintaining cleanliness of bathrooms, clean up spills, shovel entryways, etc..;
     Assists custodians with set up or take down of certain user group equipment such as bleachers, chairs, tables, etc…;
    Open/lock up buildings as assigned
    Reports maintenance needs to Custodian on duty

    Twist ‘N’ Tumble (TNT) is seeking a highly qualified candidate for an Adult Gymnastics Recreation and Competition
    Coach. This person will oversee the gymnastics and preschool recreational programs offered through Twist ‘N’ Tumble.
    Starting pay is $18.00/hr contingent on experience
    8-15 hours per week varies with competition season (potential for more hours)
    240-260 days per year
    Monday - Saturday including evenings and weekends

    Primary Duties:

     
    •  Implement program curriculums (Ninja and Gymnastics Recreation) with the approval of the TNT Supervisor.
    • Facilitate the first week of each ninja and gymnastics recreational session, by assisting parents/staff/ninjas/gymnasts in finding their classes, answering questions and providing quality customer service.
    • Speak to parents regarding their child’s progression, and communicate with youth enrichment administrative assistant regarding child’s class levels.
    • Conduct youth assessments as needed, update on My Skills Chart. Communicate with TNT Supervisor regarding dates and times of assessments.
    •  Coach ninja and gymnastics recreational classes throughout the week, when needed.
    • Assist in coordinating camps, open gym and special events programs.
    •  Assist in staffing birthday parties, if needed
    •  Ensure Speedy grid is updated.
    •  Update My Skills Chart each session and ensure parents/staff/etc. are utilizing it.
    •  Include TNT Supervisor on all correspondence with parents, youth, and coaching staff.
    • Regularly update and meet with TNT supervisor & any additional leadership coaching staff

      Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

       
      • Establish and maintain partnerships with local businesses, colleges, trade schools, and community organizations to provide real-world learning experiences such as internships, job shadows, and mentorships.
      • Develop, implement, and oversee career and academic pathways that align with district goals and workforce demands.
      • Provide direct support to students in exploring career interests, academic planning, and post-secondary opportunities.
      • Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administrators to integrate pathway-related curriculum into coursework.
      • Assist students in understanding and accessing Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs, dual enrollment opportunities, and industry certifications.
      • Coordinate events such as career fairs, college visits, guest speaker presentations, and workforce readiness workshops.
      • Work with students to develop individualized learning plans that align with their career goals.
      • Track and analyze student participation and success within pathways programs to ensure continuous improvement.
      • Support the development and implementation of innovative learning experiences, such as project-based learning and work-based learning opportunities.
      • Serve as a liaison between Farmington High School and external stakeholders, advocating for expanded pathway opportunities.
      • Communicate with students, families, and staff regarding available pathway programs and resources.
      • Stay informed about workforce trends, industry certifications, and best practices in career and technical education.
      • Perform other related duties as assigned by school administration.
        

      Qualifications:

      Education & Experience:
      • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Career and Technical Education, Counseling, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
      • Experience in career development, academic advising, or program coordination preferred.
