Position Goals:  To organize all extracurricular uses of the building, grounds, and rentals while providing each enrolled student of District #327 an opportunity to participate in extracurricular activities in a safe manner that will foster physical and academic skills, a sense of worth and competence, and the principles of fair play.
 
Performance Descriptors:            
• Is responsible for and oversees the operation of the Illini Bluffs #327 High School extracurricular programs.
• The employee will be responsible for scheduling for girls’ and boys’ extracurricular sports and activities.
• The employee will be responsible for coordinating with coaches, sponsors, and outside organizations to schedule the use of district facilities. 
• The employee will hire and secure all officials and initiate event contracts.
• Responsible for eligibility lists and communication of eligibility lists to high school staff.
• The employee will be responsible for meeting with students concerning eligibility and, in conjunction with the coach or sponsor, communicating with parents/guardians if necessary.
• Supervise high school events in collaboration with the building principal. Supervision of away events when deemed necessary by the superintendent or designee. 
• Responsible official for all tournaments and contests hosted by Illini Bluffs High School.
• Evaluation of High School head coaches. Attends practices/events and creates an evaluation based on the coach’s performance over the season. Meets with the coach to discuss evaluation strengths and areas for improvement.
• Responsible for keeping principal informed of IHSA rules, regulations, and proposals for voting.
• The employee will be responsible for administering the athletic program in compliance with all rules and regulations of the Illinois High School Association.
• The employee will make recommendations concerning the recruitment, selection, and retention of all coaches.
• The employee will be responsible for developing, revising, implementing, and enforcing the Extracurricular Activities and the extracurricular code outlined in the student handbook.
• The employee will administer an annual sports interest survey in compliance with ISBE and ROE guidelines.
• The employee will be responsible for the development of all athletic schedules.
• The employee will be responsible for the preparation of the total athletic budget, in cooperation with the head coach of each sport, and make budget recommendations to the superintendent or designee for all sports and activities.
• The employee will develop and supervise a system of inventory control for all athletic equipment and supplies.
• The employee will coordinate with the Director of Transportation to arrange for the transportation for all athletic events held away from school.
• The employee will be responsible for the preparation of and supervision of the playing areas (gymnasium, baseball fields, softball field, track, locker rooms, utility buildings, soccer field) and will collaborate with the Director of Buildings and Grounds.
• The employee will make recommendations concerning all groups wishing to use athletic facilities for games or practices.
• The employee will be responsible for arranging provision for meals, housing, and transportation for participants and coaches when state competition is involved.
• The employee will be responsible for organizing and keeping an inventory of all extracurricular awards, state competitions, and school team records.
• The employee will attend all regularly scheduled Athletic Booster Club meetings and serve as the liaison between the school and the Booster Organization.
• The employee will attend conference meetings for high school activities/sports. 
• The employee will serve as ticket manager for all district athletic activities. 
• Responsible for parental/family contact concerning athletic activities.
• In conjunction with the maintenance director and building principal, ensure facilities are safe for students, coaches, referees, and spectators. 
• The employee will ensure all athletic fees have been collected in conjunction with school office staff.
• The employee will ensure all district policies are followed at all times.
• The employee will perform other duties as may be assigned by the Superintendent or designee.
Risk Management Performance Descriptors:
• Consults with coaches and District Nurse to order medical supplies to prevent and manage injuries.
• Coordinates with District Nurse for CPR, AED, and concussion training for all coaches and sponsors via IHSA requirements.
