Position Purpose
Under the general supervision of the Nursing Coordinator and reporting to the administrator, to facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing district approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific educational needs of individual students and by creating a flexible, safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc.
 
 
 
Essential Performance Responsibilities
 
·         Demonstrates and teaches patient care in classroom and clinical units to nursing students and instructs students in principles and application of physical, biological, and psychological subjects related to nursing.
 
·         Supervises student nurses and demonstrates patient care in clinical units of hospital.
 
·         Prepares and administers examinations, evaluates student progress, and maintains records of student classroom and clinical experience.
 
·         Participates in planning curriculum, teaching schedule, and course outline.
 
·         Cooperates with medical and nursing personnel in evaluating and improving teaching and nursing practices.
 
·         May specialize in specific subject, such as anatomy, chemistry, psychology, or nutrition, or in type of nursing activity, such as nursing of medical or surgical patients.
 
·         May conduct classes for patients in health practices and procedures.
 
·         Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needs; conducts individual small group instruction as needed.
 
·         Instructs students in the principles of responsible citizenship and other subject matters specified in applicable laws, as well as administrative regulations and procedures of the school.
 
·         Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research.
 
·         Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws.
 
·         Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.
 
·         Ensures that student conduct conforms with the school's standards and school district policies, and establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
 
·         Coordinates with other school professional staff members, especially within grade level and specific subjects, to evaluate and assess curriculum, and participates in faculty meetings and committees.
 
·         Supervises students in activities that take place out of the classroom and lab during the school day, including activities involving school transportation.

Certification/License:

School Counselor 
Position Purpose
Under the general supervision of the administrator, to provide students, parents, administrators, and other teaching staff with information on career and or educational opportunities; administer and interpret career assessment tools; and assist students in developing educational and occupational goals and plans.

•         Assists students in evaluating students' aptitudes and abilities through the interpretation of individual standardized test scores and other pertinent data, and works with students in developing education and occupation plans consistent with such evaluation.

•         Assists with the registration and orientation for students who are new to the school regarding procedures and educational opportunities.

•         Assists with the school district's dropout prevention efforts.

•         Serves as ready resource to students to provide counseling that will lead each student to increased personal growth, self-understanding, and maturity.

•         Plans and coordinates field trips to institutions of higher learning, businesses and other organizations related to guidance responsibilities.

Position Purpose
