Job Summary:
The Susquehanna Township School District is committed to achieving excellence on a global scale and holds its employees to high performance standards. Currently, the District is in search of an Anticipated Tax Collection, Accounts Payable and Business Services Specialist to further this mission. We are looking for a dynamic individual who is eager to propel the District towards its goals. This position will be available on or before January 1, 2025. The Tax Collection, Accounts Payable & Business Services Specialist is responsible for managing tax collection, accounts payable functions, and various business services for the district. This position ensures timely processing of tax transactions, supports accounts payable operations, and provides exceptional customer service to district staff and taxpayers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tax Collection & Accounts Receivable: Process and record real estate and personal tax payments, manage accounts receivable, and ensure accurate records.
- Business Services: Assist with various business services functions, including processing invoices, managing district mail, and handling supply orders.
- Customer Service: Provide responsive support to taxpayers and district staff via in-person, phone, and email communication.
- Account Management: Maintain accurate tax records, process tax refund checks, and update student information.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Business Manager to ensure proper tax collection and accounts payable procedures are followed.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience: 1-2 years of related experience in tax collection, accounts payable, or business services.
- Skills:
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software.
- Ability to manage time effectively and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Physical/Mental Demands:
- Ability to sit at a desk for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks such as typing.
- Light lifting of up to 15 pounds, occasional bending, stooping, and reaching.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Environment:
- Primarily office setting, with occasional movement between buildings.
