Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools is inviting applications for the position of Consultant of Learning Services - First Nations, Métis and Inuit Education. This is a full-time position with duties commencing August 25, 2025. The Consultant of Learning Services - First Nations, Métis and Inuit Education is a member of the First Nations, Métis and Inuit Education Learning Community within Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools and is responsible for the development of curricular strategies specific to the success of First Nations, Métis and Inuit students. As part of this team, your role includes support for Division-wide leadership in Treaty Education education. This position will also provide leadership and facilitation for the professional development schools within GSCS.
Preference will be extended to applicants who possess the following:
- A professional ‘A’ teaching certificate
- A master’s degree in education
- Five years successful teaching experience
- A highly developed Indigenous knowledge base with extensive competencies in areas such as; fluency in an Indigenous language, Elder protocols, ceremonies, strong Indigenous cultural competencies, a strong understanding of Indigenous learning practices, Métis and Cree language pedagogies, as well as knowledge of Indigenous pedagogical practices and curriculum adaptations
- A demonstrated knowledge of epistemological and pedagogical considerations for First Nations, Métis and Inuit learners
- Ability to facilitate professional learning for teachers
- A demonstrated ability to work within a strong team philosophy as well as independently
- Experience leading and supporting professional learning based on teacher needs
