Overview:
The Governor Wentworth Regional School District is seeking a highly motivated and experienced educational leader to serve as the Director of Curriculum and Instruction. This key administrative position will play a pivotal role in shaping the academic direction and growth of our district. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive experience in curriculum design, and a deep understanding of competency-based education and assessment. The Director of Curriculum and Instruction will collaborate with teachers, staff, and administrators to ensure the development and implementation of high-quality instructional programs that support student achievement and foster a lifelong love of learning. The Director of Curriculum works under the direction and supervision of the Assistant Superintendent.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the development, alignment, and continuous improvement of district-wide curriculum and instructional practices.
Promote and support the implementation of competency-based education (CBE) and assessment systems to drive student success.
Collaborate with principals, teachers, and other key stakeholders to create and execute professional development opportunities focused on effective teaching and learning.
Oversee curriculum mapping and alignment with state and national standards, ensuring equity and excellence across all grade levels and subject areas.
Utilize data-driven approaches to assess and monitor the effectiveness of curriculum and instructional programs, adjusting as needed to improve student outcomes.
Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and collaboration within the district.
Provide leadership in the integration of technology into teaching and learning strategies.
Stay current on best practices and trends in education, ensuring the district's curriculum and instructional strategies remain relevant and effective.
Support the assessment and evaluation of teaching staff and instructional programs to ensure alignment with district goals.
Act as a key advisor to district leadership on matters related to curriculum, instruction, and assessment.

Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in K-12 education, with a proven track record in curriculum development and instructional leadership.
Strong knowledge and experience in the implementation of competency-based education (CBE) and proficiency-based assessment models.
Demonstrated success in leading and supporting teachers in effective instructional practices and student assessment.
Ability to think strategically and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, including educators, administrators, students, and families.
Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in educational practices.
Experience with data-driven decision-making and the use of educational technology.
