JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the transportation director, the Bus Driver is to operate the assigned school on an assigned transportation route. Bus Driver is responsible for the safe transportation, loading and unloading of students to and from assigned destinations.

Abide by all Indiana school transportation regulations.
Provide safe and orderly transportation to and from school and school-related activities.
Maintain an assigned schedule.
Transport only authorized students.
Discharge students only at authorized stops.
Maintain student discipline while adhering to student discipline process as outlined in Board approved student handbooks.
Abide by all traffic laws.
Inspect bus prior to each route or activity trip, and file inspection forms with the Director/designee.
Maintain the bus in clean condition and inform the transportation supervisor whenever a bus is received in unsatisfactory condition.
Immediately notify the Director/designee if the route is running late or of mechanical failure.
Inform the transportation supervisor of routine maintenance and repair required.
Report all accidents and file required accident reports with the Director.
Maintain bus cleanliness.
Adhere to all district health and safety policies.
The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the Corporation.

Appropriately operate all vehicles and equipment as required.
Support the value of an education.
Support the philosophy and mission of Greenfield-Central Community Schools.
Comply with all district policies, rules and regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Ability to lift 40 lbs.
Ability to carry 40 lbs.
Ability to ride a bus for extended periods of time.
Ability to work at a desk, conference table or in meetings of various configurations.
Ability to see for the purpose of reading laws and codes, rules and policies and other printed material.
Ability to hear and understand speech at normal levels.
Ability to communicate so others will be able to clearly understand a normal conversation.
Ability to reach in all directions.
