PRIMARY PURPOSE: 
Provide student with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the academic subject area assigned to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth.  Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.  Provide instruction and coach students to develop skills and ability to excel in sport assigned.  Contribute to education program as a whole and to growth of students involved in athletics.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned
Demonstrated competency in the academic subject area assigned
Ability to obtain a CDL with passenger, air brake and safety endorsements

Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of academic subject assigned
General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
Ability to instruct students and supervise student athletes
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
General knowledge of coaching techniques and procedures
Knowledge of University Interscholastic League (UIL) rules

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Instructional Strategies:
Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of district’s curriculum program and show written evidence of preparation as required.
Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in student learning styles.
Present subject matter according to guidelines established by Texas Education Agency, board policies, and administrative regulations.
Fulfill all coaching responsibilities and duties as assigned.
Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned.
Conduct assessment of student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities.
Work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula as needed for special education students according to guidelines established in Individual Education Plans (IEP).
Work with other members of staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to district requirements.
Plan and supervise assignments of teacher aide(s) and volunteer(s).
Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process.
Use a variety of instructional techniques and media to meet the needs and improve the abilities of student athletes in the sport assigned.
Manage and supervise athletic activities, contests, and practice sessions to promote individual growth in athletic skills, teamwork, and good sportsmanship.

Program Management:
Establish performance criteria for competition and evaluate students’ athletic abilities initially and on a regular basis.
Take all necessary precautions to protect student athletes, equipment, materials, and facilities.
Keep informed of and ensure compliance with all UIL rules.
Monitor and enforce student eligibility criteria for extracurricular participation.
Work with the athletic director to schedule competitions and coordinate arrangements.
Develop and coordinate a continuing evaluation of coaching program and make changes based on findings.
Drive bus to transport students safely and efficiently from one location to another when needed. 
Report any mechanical problems with the bus or other district vehicles.
Follow Frisco ISD Policies, State of Texas School Bus Driver Laws, and Texas CDL Laws.
 
Student Growth and Development:
Help students analyze and improve study methods and habits.
Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned. Sponsor outside activities approved by the campus principal.
Be a positive role model for students, support mission of school district.
 
Classroom/Student Management and Organization:
Create classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
Manage student behavior in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.

Communication:
Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, principals, and teachers.
Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents, and community members.
Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.

Administration:
Assist in selection of equipment and instructional materials.
Maintain a current inventory of all fixed assets within program.
Oversee process of cleaning, repairing, and storing all campus athletic equipment.
 
Professional Growth and Development:
Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills.
Keep informed of and comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers.
Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required.
Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervise assigned assistant coaches.

PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Maintain current and accurate confidential student records.  Perform data entry including Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS) data.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:             
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED
Some college preferred
 
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Proficient in personal computer use, file maintenance, and email communication
Proficient in spreadsheets, databases, and word processing documents
Experience in student records management including transcripts, enrollment, transfers, attendance, and grades

Experience

Create and maintain physical and computerized records such as report card grades, eligibility, attendance, class rosters, grade books, and schedule changes if applicable for existing, new and transfer students.
Prepare and print reports including demographic, attendance, grades, scheduling and transcript information.
Assist with the campus master schedule.
Manage transcripts including credits, grades, and class rank, as well as new and student transfer information.
Interact with other third party software such as career readiness software, an on-line registration system and a state records transfer system, and college admissions processing of transcripts.
Key and verify source, PEIMS and results data according to standard procedures while recognizing and correcting errors in original data prior to processing.
Maintain confidentiality.
Assume responsibility for acquiring the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for fulfilling responsibilities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
