Job Title: Head Basketball Coach
Reports To: Athletic Director / Administration
Job Type: 240 Days
JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for coaching and providing direction to student athletes so that they achieve a high level of skill as well as an appreciation for discipline, sportsmanship, community service and teamwork. It is also responsible for all leadership aspects of the basketball program grades 7-12.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties of this position include the following. Employees in this position perform some or all of the following tasks. Other duties may be assigned.
Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policy(ies) and procedures.
Instructs and demonstrates skill sets and techniques necessary for individual and team achievement.
Plans and sets-up activities, practices and games by level.
Ensures certified coach(es) are present at all practices and games.
Develops appropriate training programs and implements practice schedules daily.
Ensures that proper cleaning, storage, and maintenance of all athletic equipment and uniforms and updated inventories are turned in.
Arranges transportation for athletic participants as approved by AD.
Arranges hotel room reservations for all overnight events except District and State Competitions as approved by AD.
Travels with student athletes on the team bus both to and from games.
Adheres to all financial policies of the District in regard to the collection and disbursement of money, expenses, and receipts.
Makes recommendations to the AD regarding the purchase of uniforms, equipment and supplies.
Works with the AD in preparing practice and game schedules.
Maintains necessary records and completes required paperwork in a specified time and manner.
Ensures that proper form(s) (insurance, attendance, medical) obtained and current.
Ensures that all student athletes are eligible, insured, have turned in paperwork, and are in good physical condition from the beginning to the end of the season.
Enforces discipline policies, emphasizes sportsmanship, community service and healthy lifestyles.
Supervises students in locker rooms at home and away games and before and after practice to ensure appropriate behavior.
Checks and secures all office, storage room, outside doors, gates, locker rooms, and all lights after the last player leaves after games and practices
Ensures that appropriate rules and regulations regarding the conduct and eligibility of athletic activities and athletes are explained and followed.
Maintains a safe environment and facilities for student athletes at all times
Ensures that medical and safety requirements are adhered to and priority.
Completes District injury report for any student injured within 24 hours even if student athlete does not see physician.
Reports AAA certifications and secures approval from the Athletic Director of all adults volunteering associated with their sport.
Submits athlete rosters to the Athletic Director before the first practice, one week before the season, submits and updates any changes to student information on the roster, inventories (keeps a copy), final season statistics and alphabetical list of award winners immediately following the season (list includes number of awards earned and the class of the athlete.).
Consults with Athletic Director regarding off-season training programs.
Assigns duties via a job description to all assistant coaches under his/her jurisdiction; including pre-season practice sessions.
Interacts thoughtfully and in a courteous manner with students, staff, parents, fellow coaches, officials and resolves conflict in a professional manner.
Appropriately maintains and secures confidential records and inquiries.
Professionally represents the school and the District in competition, practice and in interactions with students, parents, community, staff and the media.
Maintains appropriate certifications and training hours as required.
Attends work regularly and is punctual.

MARGINAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Child Nutrition Kitchen Manager, the general duties and responsibilities of the Child Nutrition Cook are to perform routine manual tasks in the preparation and serving of food and in cleaning and maintaining food service areas.
Duties included but not limited to:
Cooperate with the Child Nutrition Kitchen Manager to provide a positive and inviting experience for students, parents, and faculty.
Be responsible for food preparation by washing, chopping, cutting, assembling, sorting and mixing food as assigned by the kitchen manager according to standardized recipes and established food preparation procedures.
Be responsible for serving food as assigned by the kitchen manager during the serving period in accordance with the mandated state and federal regulations.
Be responsible for cleaning equipment, storage and work areas during the total work day to include, but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, and disposing of trash.
Be responsible for proper storage of food before, during, and after serving time.
Be responsible for washing dishes and utensils.
Operate mechanical equipment properly and safely.
Follow work schedules as assigned by the kitchen manager.
Practice acceptable health and work habits as outlined in the district Food Safety Plan.
Attend and participate in all in-service training as required.
Report needed supplies and equipment malfunctions to the kitchen manager for the purpose of maintaining inventory and submitting work orders for repairs in a timely manner.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Share and lead the vision to create an individualized education program for each student.
Facilitate all targeted interventions and assisting in courses as required.
Liaison between instructors and students.
Provide individual or small group instruction.
Assist in implementing behavior management activities.
Perform clerical duties which may include: collection and recording of data, preparing classroom materials, and entering data into a computer program.
Attend conferences or meetings, as deemed appropriate/necessary.
Attend appropriate training sessions. If applicable, annually obtain a specified number of professional development hours.
Accompany students to general education classroom, cafeteria, playground, restroom, and or other locations on the school campus.
