Job Title:  EL TEACHER  - 2.0 FTE

Job Description: Two (2) EL Teacher 1.0 FTE –  EL Teacher to work as a part of our Middle School team to provide differentiated support for our diverse group of English Learners and perform the possible duties outlined below.  This position commences with the 2025-2026 school year on Monday, August 25, 2025.

Qualifications:  Ability to work with a team.  Ability to design individual programming and accommodations for students with disabilities.  Excellent communication and organizational skills. All candidates will be considered.

Essential Functions:
 
• Manage some of the 6-8th grade dual identified EL/SPED caseload, as needed.
• Teach EL classes, as needed (levels 2.5-3.5).
• Co-teaching in 6-8th grade math classes
• Bilingual preferred but not necessary.
• Work with the department chair to plan and implement new learning and strategies. 
• Build positive relationships with students and families. 
• Collaborate with content area teachers positively and effectively.
• Work with literacy coaches to educate content area teachers on best-practices for ELs in the mainstream.
 
Licensure:  Must hold a TESOL license from an accredited institution or a State of Minnesota ESL License, Experience with SLIFE Students is preferred.

Job Description:         Special Education Paraprofessional position.  These positions will be for 7 hours per day, 5 days per week to provide support and supervision of special needs students with Developmental Cognitive Disabilities at Faribault Middle School.  Approximate rate of pay starts at $21.10.  The positions commence on approximately 8/25/25 with the start of the 25-26 school year. 

Qualifications:             One of the following required:  (1) Two year Associate of Arts degree; OR (2) The equivalent of 60 semester credits OR (3) A portfolio demonstrating MN Core Competencies for Paraprofessionals OR (4) A passing score on the MN Para Pro Test.  High School Diploma required.  Experience working with students with special needs.  Ability and willingness to take direction from the case manager.  Trained or willingness to be trained in strategies such as Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), visual schedules, social stories, and positive behavior supports.  Ability to implement the strategies identified above.  Ability to collect and report data as directed by the case manager.  Trained or willing to be trained in certain medical procedures.  Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, assist with personal care (e.g., toileting, lifting, diapering, feeding, motor activities, medicating) or one-on-one care if necessary and work with bodily fluids. 

This position will involve substituting in the health office when needed under supervision of the licensed school nurse, to assist in paraprofessional activities related to health office services, to work within the framework of school laws, District policy, and first aid/CPR standards, and to do related work as required. Must have ability to take responsibility for supervising students, speak clearly and distinctly, demonstrate patience, warmth and liking for children, perform routine record keeping duties, understand and carry out oral and written instructions, render preliminary first aid steps, learn and perform specialized health procedures, and maintain District-approved First Aid and CPR Certificates.

Qualifications:                       
Experience working with middle school aged students with academic and behavior challenges; knowledge of due process forms and procedures required; knowledge of MN EBD and SLD criteria and the evaluation process including Functional Behavior Assessments; understanding the use of Positive Behavior Supports; knowledge of how to write a Behavior Intervention Plan; ability to work with a team; training or willingness to be trained in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI); and excellent oral and written communication skills.  Highly qualified in Math, Reading and English preferred.  All candidates will be considered.
 
Licensure:
