ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THIS POSITION:

JOB SUMMARY:
 
To create a flexible kindergarten program and a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth; to establish effective rapport with pupils; to motivate pupils to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for lower elementary grade education, in accordance with each pupil's ability; to establish good relationships with parents and with other staff members.   Assist in other school programs as assigned.
  
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THIS POSITION:
•  Provide learning experiences in language arts, social studies, pre-reading, mathematics, science, art, health, physicaleducation and music to pupils in a classroom, utilizing course of study adopted by the Board of Trustees, and other appropriate learning activities.
• Instruct pupils in citizenship, basic communication skills, and other general elements of the course of study specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of the school district.
• Develop and use instructional materials suitable for verbal or visual instruction of pupils with wide range of mental, physical and emotional maturities.
• Provide individual and group instruction designed to meet individual needs and help the pupils to make a satisfactory transition to school.
• Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve an effective participation in all activities without interfering with the natural informal atmosphere of a kindergarten.
