    JOB TITLE:        Coordinator of Student Support
     

    JOB SUMMARY:
     
    Under the direction of the School Principal, the Coordinator of Student Support assists in the daily administration and operation of the school, staff, students, and related activities. Assist students in resolving such non-academic problems (attendance, behavior, social-emotional, and truancy) that may interfere with their obtaining the greatest benefit from the school’s educational opportunities. Use leadership, supervisory, and administrative skills to promote the educational development of students.

    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

     
    • 200 work days contracted.
    • Salary based on education and experience.
    • Administrative – Pupil Service Salary Schedule 15-0001
    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
     
    Credential:
    • California School Administration credential.
    Education:
    • Master's degree in education or related field.
    Experience:
    • Experience in pupil personnel services.
    • Experience in Positive Behavior Interventions and Support, Multi-tiered systems of support, and/or Restorative Practices
    • Knowledge of school finance and budgeting processes. Several years of increasingly responsible public school experience working with specially funded programs.
    Personal Qualities:
    • Ability to work with students/parents/staff. Knowledge of and respect for bilingual education.
    • Some proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking Spanish.
    • Ability to make decisions and provide positive leadership.
    • Valid California Driver's License.
    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THIS POSITION:
    • Develops, in collaboration with staff, a school discipline plan. Implements and monitors the discipline plan in a consistent manner.
    • Supports staff in developing positive classroom management.
    • Coordinate Student Success Teams (SST).
    • Coordinate 504 Plan Development.
    • Maintains open communications with students, parents, counselors, and staff on student academic and discipline matters.
    • Represents school administration at various meetings involved with the academic and disciplinary process of students.
    • Implements the district’s character education program and coordinates any social emotional program.
    • Schedules student assemblies to recognize academic achievement, citizenship, and athletic achievement; as well as motivational and educational speakers.
    • Supervises the planning and provisions for field trips, sports events, dances, ASB activities, or other school related or sponsored events.
    • Serves as the lead administrator in absence of the principal/vice principal and is a member of the district administrative team.
    • Involved in the implementation of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports, Multi-tiered systems of support, and Restorative Practices including keeping records of the levels of support that have been provided to students.
    • Provide and coordinate staff development activities based on staff and student needs.
    • Coordinate standardized testing programs in the school.
    • Orient new students and their parents to the school.
    • Conduct parent conferences and home visits as necessary.
    • Assist in counseling, registration, and placing of new students.
    • Assist in the supervision of student activities, school buildings, and grounds.
    • Incorporated within one or more of the previously mentioned essential functions or the job description are the following essential physical requirements: (Percent 1-100)
     
    • 5%             Ability to stand, walk and jog for extended periods.
    • 5%             Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
    • 5%             Ability to lift and carry at least 50 lbs.
    • 15%           Ability to hear and understand speech at normal levels.
    • 20%           Ability to work at a desk, conference table and attend meetings.
    • 20%           Ability to see for purpose of reading laws and codes, rules and policies, and other printed matter.
    • 30%           Ability to communicate so others will be able to clearly understand a normal conversation.
