He/She shall be responsible to the Superintendent of Schools for all organization, administration, and supervision within the building.
He/She shall be responsible for all administrative details relating to janitors and their work and the maintenance of the school plant.
He/She through democratic administration and high professional standard’s, shall work cooperatively with the teaching staff for the best interest of the children.
He/She shall be responsible for the health and welfare of the children and employees. He/She shall be responsible for completing Form S.F. 1- Employer’s First Report of Injury and Request for Medical Attention under Workmen’s Compensation.
He/She shall be responsible to confer with the Assistant Superintendent and Supervisor in curriculum development in planning and adapting the courses of study to the needs and interest of the children.
He/She shall be responsible for maintaining good public relation with the community and for utilizing fully the community resources to enrich the learning program.
He/She take an active interest in local, state and national professional organizations to promote professional improvement and render greater service.
He/She shall see that each staff member with his building has an equitable amount of class and extra-class work.
He/She shall carry out appraisals on all teachers as directed by the Superintendent.
He/She shall be responsible for the classification, promotion, or retention of students within the building according to school policies.
He/She shall constantly appraise and evaluate the instructional program.
He/She shall oversee the attendance and conduct of the pupils.
He/She shall prepare reports as it regards program in the school.
He/She shall be responsible for ordering supplies, textbooks, equipment and all materials necessary to the operation of the school through the office of the Superintendent of schools.
He/She shall be responsible for the following:
Fire Drills
Air Raid Drills
Teacher’s Meetings
School Exhibits
Parent-Teacher organization
Evening classes in the school
School enterprises and activities
Physical condition of the school
Supervision of Automobile Traffic
He/She shall be responsible for organizing and supervising the use of playground and lunchroom in the best interest of the students.
He/She shall be responsible for the protection of the building and equipment at all times.
He/She shall be responsible for all school activities held in the building under their supervision.
He/She shall record the teacher’s arrival to the building and check that they are in the classrooms at the times designated by the school policies.
Except in emergencies, the principal should not directly contact the maintenance supervisor for service but should make these requests of the Superintendent of Schools.
He/She shall perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Superintendent of Schools.
