Responsible for management and supervision of all functions of buildings, grounds, maintenance, custodial services, and energy departments in a way that supports the health, safety and welfare of students, faculty, staff and administration in an effort to continue to promote and support high-quality learning environments throughout the district.
Coordinates the Custodial and Maintenance Departments, to provide excellence, efficiency and equity of services within the Edmond Public Schools District.
Administers and evaluates Maintenance and Custodial Supervisors and associated departments as well as the District’s Energy Manager.
Assists and advises in the recruitment, employment, assignment, transfer, promotion, demotion, or dismissal of Custodial and Maintenance personnel.
Plans and coordinates an overall broad program for maintenance, repairs, housekeeping, energy, and asbestos and/or hazardous chemical programs within the district.
Assumes leadership in the development and implementation of policies, administrative regulations, procedures and practices which apply to all areas of Maintenance.
Monitors the maintenance and housekeeping of all buildings and grounds focusing on cleanliness, appearance and the health, safety, and welfare of persons using the facilities.
Analyzes data and benchmarks from Custodial and Maintenance Departments to make decisions, increase efficiencies and lower operational costs.
Oversees all contracts and contract renewals for maintenance such as, but not limited to, custodial services, lawn services, flooring, and roofing.
Works with Maintenance department heads, the Executive Director of District Operations and the Chief Financial Officer to develop budgets for maintenance, custodial, and energy.
Recommends the purchase of needed equipment and supplies for facilities in the district.
Approves departmental purchase requests and when appropriate, payment of bills submitted by supply vendors, contractors, architects and materials providers.
Assists in the development and planning of district bond issues, prioritizing projects and allocation of bond fund proceeds to fund scheduled projects.
Works with the Executive Director of District Operations in the development of new construction and renovation projects, assisting in the coordination of plans concerning new facilities, existing facilities, implementation of district construction standards, review of city laws and codes and review and coordination of city easements and utilities.
Serves as the District liaison and the point of contact with governmental and public agencies having jurisdiction and inspection responsibilities over school buildings and properties.
Coordinates required inspections and related activities with public agencies.
Investigates reports of faulty workmanship or materials and takes appropriate action to remove and replace where and when applicable.
Ensures that general training and mandatory safety, asbestos and hazardous chemical training are provided for appropriate district personnel and ensures that training records are maintained district-wide.
Maintains and monitors the district’s energy management program so as to maximize energy savings at each of the district’s buildings and campuses district wide.
Maintains necessary records and prepares periodic reports for district administration and the Edmond Board of Education.
Attends Edmond Board of Education meetings as requested and is prepared to provide, and/or obtain, information desired by the Board of Education, Superintendent and administration.

Length of Contract : Two hundred forty (240) contract days.
