  INSTRUCTIONAL ELA COACH

QUALIFICATIONS:
•  Education/Certification: Bachelor’s Degree from Accredited College or University
•  Valid New Jersey Teaching Certificate with Success in Teaching all students
•  Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of child development, effective instructional strategies, learning assessment and diagnosis, and best practices as they relate to literacy instruction;
•  Demonstrates effective problem-solving, communications, organization, planning, record-keeping, and human relations skills;
•  Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
•  Successful completion of criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status;
•  Successful completion of physical examination; and
•  Meet such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may deem appropriate, acceptable, and legal.
• Experience with Science of Reading and Balanced Literacy

JOB GOAL: To increase the literacy achievement of students by building the instructional capacity of classroom teachers and providing technical assistance and support to classroom teachers and principals. Model lessons that include best instructional practices in literacy instruction for K-6 teachers, monitor classroom instruction, and coach teachers in best practices for literacy instruction.
