TITLE: Inclusion Facilitator
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Connecticut Special Education certification
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferrred
- Understanding of differentiated instruction
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff, parents, administrators and other professionals
- Ability to articulate goals of district regarding LRE and inclusion
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable
REPORTS TO: Director of Pupil Personnel Services and Supervisors of Special Education
JOB GOAL: To continue to build capacity for students with disabilities to have quality educational opportunity of general education.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide support and technical assistance regarding best practices in special education and service delivery in the least restrictive environment.
- Provide assistance to building staff on academic and behavioral interventions in the general education classroom.
- Design and implement parent activities to provide information regarding responsible inclusion practices.
- Attend Planning and Placement Team meetings as needed to assist in inclusive planning.
- Understanding of curricular goals and objectives and means of modifying and adapting these goals for student with disabilities.
- Assist IEP teams in the development of appropriate IEP’s to match the identified student’s needs for specifically designed instruction.
- Assist in oversight of implementation of IEP Plus to help in assuring compliance with state and federal reporting requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
School year. Salary, benefits and work year to be established by the EHEA contract.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board of Education’s policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
